Hi, a few times now with my 55 monk, when i've been running my self to a new outpost or just trying to capture a skill. When I've died, i get the henches to res me, but it takes like 10 times or more for them untill i get resed. Now this time, i've been dead for over an hour, the healer hench have been trying to res me all the time. I get resed, but i die right after, i never get any hp. i see my self stand up, and right after lying dead. Anyone know how to fix this problem, or is it a bug in the game?

If you die once you have 1 health point left because of the dp.. and If you die again without getting it back to normal you get resed with ( -negative ) health and we all know thats impossible, and the armor switching trick cannot work since you are rezed for maybe .5 secs if your lucky

ah, okey. Then i understand, but when me and my friend was getting SoJ, this happened to both of us. But after we tried to get ressed for like 10-20 times. We got ressed, and could keep playing.

After soloing in UW today with my 55monk and I decided to try to solo in FoW. All went OK until I met the first Mesmer Bang! Dead!
So, I figured out a way to get passed the Mesmer and I went to the place where the Rangers and Abyssals (sp) are located. That went well, killed them all with no problems. But then another group of Shadow Warriors and Monks showed up. Got passed them too and there was a small group with 1 Mesmer and 2 Ele's I think. Inpossible to get passed them, because the Mesmer would just kill me with his Enchant Remover. I'm just wondering, is there any way that you can get passed them? Maybe by not taking that route and going via the spider cave route?

Also, I don't know what they are called, Undead? Skeletons? The monsters you encounter where the book trick guy quest is located, in that area... The Warriors would be easy to take but from which ones do I have to watch out? The Bonders are monks, what are the other creatures?

Hi everybody, I'm not really what you could a 55 noob, as i've been solo farmin a lot in easy places ( augury, elona, droks trolls) with my necro, i do use a HOD & a FFS (the nerfed one) just depends of what i'm doing .Anyway, I've been a lot in uw with my necro mostly sa ss/sv and sometimes, to solo farm it a little, more for fun than for anything else cause smites still are really tricky. But, as ss/sv i saw these smites monks usin swords or axes that kills the nightmare in 1 hit, i've searched the forum, and havent been able to find their build? Do someone know it and can he post it here? I'd really like to try, mainly for fun as i think solo uw is damn slow compared with ss & 55.
So please can you help me?

It's reccomended but not required. My monk currently uses stock droks armor for 55ing and doesn't have much of an energy problem. However, having extra energy will help. If it's money that you are worried about, trust me...you'll gain your money back pretty fast.

There has been accounts going around saying that there is a way to kill nightmares in one hit with a sword or axe. There are a few ways to do so but they are a total waste imo as it requires you to either give up skill points or give up a skill on your skill bar. You're better off with 2-3 hit nightmare kills.

gordac's holy rod or wroths rod will work fine, as long as you put enough points into smiting (9) for wroths.

Can't kill a night in one hit with sword or axe because your req. wouldn't be high enough for a 55 to do it. But descreate enchantments could own them pretty badly thats what I do when I dual UW with a 55 and I have a interupter just in case.

Ok thank you all for your answers. I'm gonna try to solo uw but i'm wondering how you can kill the nightmare without the sb as even with a customized max dmg wand you sometimes need 3 hits to kill it.

Actually as i'm often going as ss/sv, i've seen some smites monks killing the nightmares with a sword or an axe, just to let you know it is possible, moreover i've seen that with several kinds of weapons not only hod, but chaos axe, brutes, fellblades.
I'll do dome tests & let you know what i come up with

FYI some people use Zealot's Fire to kill the Nightmares, so it might look like they're using their weapon, or they might even be using it, but it's mostly likely not what's doing most of the damage. Of course it's possible for a Mo/W to dump enough (8 or 9 usually) points into Axe/Sword Mastery for it to be possible, but it would be a huge waste and still probably take at least 2 hits.

If you're doing two man use Power Spike so you interrupt and deal damage. Desecrate takes too long to cast to bother with against Nightmares.

^ Yea that can work but if you get Desecrate up in time you will rock the nightmare and I have never brought Power Spike with with ss/sv but I will prob. try it out.

Aside from wondering why you decided to ask this in the 55 monk thread, you didn't give enough information for anyone to give you a decent answer.

That said... Get whatever armor you think is best for normal play; some people prefer higher AL, some higher energy. Personally, I prefer energy since a monk shouldn't be taking that much damage in pve to begin with. The choice is entirely yours though, just read the descriptions and figure out what fits your play style best. You’re going to want at least Desert Collector’s AL for end-game areas, although I would go with Drok’s armor if not 15k.

As far as runes go, if you want be a healer go for superior vigor, superior healing prayers and either minor or major divine favor. Throw in a minor protection rune if you really want; they’re cheap and can be pretty useful if you use a prot spell or two.

If you want to be a prot monk, just reverse the scenario and go with a superior protection prayers rune, superior vigor and minor or major divine favor.

I'm curious as to the general consensus on 55 monk weaponry. For general 2 man, and soloing in various places. The reason I ask is alot of builds, depending on situation can require the monk (especially when soloing) to wand one or more attacking monsters to death. I'm thinking of having perhaps, four weapon sets with the following, i'm just looking for some opinions on it if you guys / gals dont' mind to help a 55 noob out, lol.

1. Flamespitter of Enchanting - 20% and Grim Cesta - Minus 50HP
2. Flamespitter of Enchanting - 20% and offhand - Lower HP
3. Wand and Grim Cesta - Minus 50HP
4. Wand and Offhand - Lower HP

Fairly self explanatory, i'm thinking this since the axe not only doesn't have a very wide range of damage, nor will I have any axe mastery invested into it. The wand would be something with most likely a max spell recharge or something along those lines with a req corresponding to my main attribute. The other offhand of course is for if I was to die, so that I could switch it out and keep the DP from killing me, i'm curious if there is such a weapon that I could obtain from a quest, if so please point me in that direction. Thanks in advance!

Thats the setup I use. Cept mine goes 1, 3, 2, 4 but order doesn't really make a difference.
