i only wear either my water tats or dragon tats with a 15k lux skirt though. ( a few duplicate sets)

btw, i wasn't trying to show off.. this is all i spend money on lol. my monk, sin, and warrior have lots and lots of armor.. a few nice weapon skins.. but mostly everything i own is in armor lol..

I have 1, but I'll probably end up with 3

1 General, 1 55, and 1 600

Currently, I'm using the one that will become my 55, because I'm saving up for my general.

For PvE 3 sets:
- Radiant (hardly ever need all the energy, might change it)
- Survivor
- 600

Headsets:
Sup prot, healing, df and smiting
Minor prot, healing, df
Minor prot for 600 (low armor)

PvP: Whatever the build requires, templates ftw

Ok, I see a lot of people posting different sets they use, but I'd like a little explaination...

Hybrid set - Is this like my main set that just has different headpieces? Or is this for some combination of heal & prot?
Heal/Prot set - How do these vary from my set w/ just different headpieces, if at all?

Though, in the end, it sounds like most people just end up with 3 sets anyway, I suppose I'll just trash the other sets after I buy them and dedicate them.

Maybe I'll work towards a FoW set then ^^.

One set, +health armor with minor divine and gloves with either minor prot, heal or vitae, other two are vitae & vigor. The only parts I change around are the gloves and the headpiece depending on build.

I feel the exact same way, once I figured this out (ages ago) all my attunement and radiants have been sitting on a mule collecting dust .. I don't even give them to my heroes anymore really.. certain classes, ok fine, but on my monk once I switched to all +hp and no +energy .. i realized how little i actually used energy wise and i still do a damn good job monking, so gimme all the hp possible ! (except when 55ing lol)

on topic again

I have a 55 set, a 600 set, a general PvE set and general PvP set(this is going to change soon based on build changes etc that i am coming across)

out of those, so far only my PvE set is elite, i'm going to get elites very soon (except 600 obviously, for that I use the tyrian design armor)

I'm also working my way up to chaos gloves (only 25 more ecto ! )

more of a status symbol but i don't care heh

These are the same. There's no real reason as a human monk to run all healing unless you're going HB or HC, and all protection isn't that exciting either. 2 Hybred monks can work togeather better than 1 of each.

So yeah, a Hybred set will generaly be a heal/prot set.

My Hybred set may end up with 2 different headsets (one +1 heal, 1 +3 heal, though I might just use the +3 heal from the 55 set). Occasionaly, a Major heal could be useful.

Not sure if I really need a smiting set, most useful smiting builds just aren't that exciting.

A hybrid set would have a minor protection and minor divine somewhere on your body armor, with a heal headpiece. *usually*
If you were running straight prot or straight heal, (for some strange reason) you wouldn't have the other rune.

^What Bront said.

hmm...all you people with separate armors for healing, protting, and hybriding...
how do you have separate armors for all of those? the only thing i could see changing is the headpiece. Unless you want to call your bandana an armor set of its own, what's different about those armors?
I have my general set, 55, 600, ursan, with like 5 headpieces depending on what I'm doing.

I can't speak for everyone, but for me its a habit I got in PvP. You get an extra attribute point when speccing the headpiece toward your elite, and armor swapping allows you to spec other runes as well.

Template PvPers do this regularly. They swap their att spread when they change their equipment templates so they have the right atts for the build they are going to run. PvE armor swaps are the equivalent. If you're old school enough to remember the armor swapping days, you know where this came from. back in the GWP/GWF days, players would regularly swap armors during a game to gain befits from major and superior runes. With that ability removed from PvP, it became less acceptable to do things like that in PvE as well (Mostly people did that because you could use a sup DF rune in PvP to boost Divine Boon, then swap to minor sets to increase your HP to safe play levels. It was also an effective way to combat gimmick builds when running balanced...too bad...). There are actually a few crazy people in PvE who do still armor swap in game...because there's no reason you can't.

Also: there are some builds that require only 2 attributes. Pure Heal and Pure Prot builds require no 3rd att rune to be effective. You can spec an extra vitae in there and remain equally effective...and that little bit harder to kill.

As for why one might swap an entire armor set in the process? Looks. As I said, even to reach equal efficiency with a PvP template's counterpart, you only need the one extra piece of armor--your headpieces--to run most builds. 2 pieces if you hboon; three if you pure prot too. then you can take all the prot runes off and drop on an extra vitae, etc.

But that can become a little confusing at best, or downright ugly on your monk. You have to read each piece before you apply them to make certain that you have the right one to go with your headpiece. If they all look the same, you have to...or memorize their location in storage lest you put the wrong leg piece or headpiece on. Easier--in my opinion--to make another armor set with a different skin for a different task. Then its just changing skins. hybrid prot, grab my sunspear. hybrid healing...get my norn armor out. Hboon? grab my tats. etc. etc etc for each build as attribute needs change.

HoM gives an added excuse to get all these 15k versions. Why merch or destroy them after you've spent that much time and money farming for the sets in the first place o.0 Even before then, it wasn't an expensive process, however. Pre-GW:EN, I only had 1 15k set (the sunspear; I splurged because it looked so pretty) and a few 1.5s. Use greens and collector equipment (blues) to set my weaponsets and Mel was--is and has been since GWP--PvP ready.
