I'm totally new to playing a monk and I really have no interest at all in healing anyone. Right now I am playing a pure smiting bar:

Is there any reason to spec ANYTHING into divine favor or am I misunderstanding the attribute?

Firsly, this attribute calls Divine Favor, not Factor. ;P

And yes, there isn't any reason to spend some points into DF. No healing or prot spells.

For the build you are using, there is no reason to spec any points into divine favor. If you were running a support build with [smite hex], [smite condition] or any other skill that targets an ally, divine favor=good due to the healing it does on top of the hex/condition removal or whatever other skill you might use.

[smite hex] pwns. Put your leftovers in Divine Favor and find room for [smite hex].
If you're going to run all those signets, then see [mantra of inscriptions].

pure smiting sucks, no offense, but when i started a monk a had excactly thesame idea in mind when creating it. found out that smite support = good but smite damage = fail.

i say drop auspicious incantation. you're running a near full signet build dude, dont need the energy.

take smite hex + Mantra of Inscriptions. or mindbender. minderbender -> arcane echo -> RoJ -> echoed RoJ -> echoed Roj -> Roj -> arcane echo stops.

that's what i run when i'm doing UWSC. 4x RoJ in 20 seconds, if my 40/40 doesnt trigger.

use [auspicious incantation] with [balthazars aura] for e-management, healing (div favor, preferably combined with [smiters boon]) and a bit of damage

Anyway try Strength and Honor if you have any melee, you do have to cast it on allies but it's fire and forget.

Don't get how mindbender gives you faster recharges on RoJ. Battle Standard of Wisdom maybe?
