Default Healer's Boon build without Healer's Boon?

Hey guys

After hitting level 20, I have been working on getting a pvx recommended build for my monk for future missions and it was easy enough to get all the required skills for the Healer's Boon build except the elite skill itself I was wondering if there is a decent temporary alternative I can use till I reach Mirror of Lyss. Currently I am using Holy Haste as replacement. Or should I consider a totally different build? Unyielding Aura seems no easier to get either.

I have played (1) Prophecies a little beyond Lion's Arch, (2) first two missions and the surrounding explorable areas in Factions, and (3) till the quest where you get Koss back in Nightfalls. I can continue any campaign as recommended to get good Monk builds. I don't have EotN yet. My second profession is Elementalist. Thanks

Seriously... the best way to go would be to keep pushing on in one campaign and capture every elite you pass. Nightfall has Word of Healing, Zealous Benediction and even Light of Deliverance and Glimmer if Light. I know people will blast away at LoD and GoL, but they're early and easy to grab.

An elite monk tome won't help you unless you've unlocked the elite on another character. It's a great option, if it's open to you. Sorry to say this, but the better elites are a pain to capture sometimes. But oh so worth it...

By default, monk build without Healers Boon is good build.

I would suggest you run WoH based build like http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Mo/any_WoH_Hybrid

WoH UA Glimmering Light ZB and Aura of Faith can be quite nice. PnH is still great.

I think I can do two more missions and get WoH quickly, so I will make that #1 priority for this week I can just buy Signet of Rejuvenation in Kaenig Center since Archipelagos seems so far away to the east. Suggested alternative Patient Spirit is in EotN. Unless you want me to go with Signet of Devotion instead That leaves Cure Hex and since I don't have EotN expansion, what is a good alternative? I am tempted to go with Remove Hex as Holy Viel has -1 energy regen

You don't keep Holy Veil up. You just put it up and take it off to remove the hex.

If you are too bad to maintain veil then cure hex is better.

Veil is better because any hex incoming to that target can be easily interupted and also removed quickly before it's effects have had a chance to do damage or mitigate your damage output.

I will go for Unyielding Aura as soon as I get near Droknar's forge. Then either I will carry it or load it on a Hero monk.

Holy Viel seems to be more suitable for experienced monks I will still run with it and try to learn how it functions. I will load Cure Hex on my Hero to be safe. Thanks for all the help guys

Tip: make sure you disable the skill on the hero or he won't maintain UA.

It's probably better for you to run UA yourself, because heroes tend to have poor e-management. Since UA's maintained, the hero is likely to run out of energy really fast, rendering him useless unless you have a BR necro.

I favour WoH myself, and as people have mentioned LoD and GoL are easy to grab; no harm picking them up either.

Drop Ethereal Light for WoH. And put PS or Aegis in Hboon's spot.

Also, PS or Aegis (whichever you didn't use before) is probably better than SoA.

Also, consider Selfless Spirit or Signet of Rejuv over GoLE.

Also, consider Cure Hex over Dismiss (depending on what kind of hexes/conditions are present in the area), and consider dropping the rez to fit both on the bar.

I wouldn't worry about Unyielding Aura. Its primary strength is being the best res in the game; it does not do "basically the same thing" as Healer's Boon. Although it has some perks over HB, it does not improve your casting times and costs 1 pip, both of which are significant penalties.

I prefer WoH myself, but:
1. PvP for 10-30 minutes.
2. Unlock HB from PvP.
3. Buy an elite monk tome.

The whole idea of holy veil is to maintain it so u can remove annoying hex as fast as possible without taking any dmg. Like backfire for example, but i rarely bring holy veil when i do pve, because of the following reasons : monsters die quickly , monsters are rather dumb tbh and rarely have any "lethal" hexes.

I like to bring like cure hex for hex removal especially when i have healing buff aura like ua or hb, for its massive healing amount of 200+.

Good point on the PVP. My favorite build is a WoH Hybrid. So I'd recommend that elite too. My suggestions were to get him going better UNTIL he got WoH. so it's like a work around. I think once you use some of those you can appreciate how good the better elites are.

There's a serious problem with Healer's Boon builds if you don't have EotN. Consider what spells you will use to heal yourself. Patient Spirit is the single best choice, but it's EotN. What else is there? Curiously enough, nothing really effective. Ethereal Light has the serious drawback that you can't cast it while under attack, and it has 5s cooldown to boot. Words of Comfort needs a condition or it doesn't heal for much. Dwayna's Kiss can't self-target. Healing Breeze is regen-based healing, expensive and unaffected by Healer's Boon's healing increase. Heal Area is expensive and heals your opponents as well. Heal Party is even more expensive for less healing than Patient Spirit. Orison's healing is pathetic. Healing Touch is OK but really selfish - effectively it only works on yourself. Cure Hex is also EotN, and you can only use it if you have a hex on you.

I think, if you don't have EotN, don't rely on Healer's Boon. WoH works and works well. You can also try other elites - Restore Condition, Aura of Faith, Life Sheath, Unyielding Aura, etc.

I still use etheral light on occasion, i just make sure i stay back and don't get attacked, most pugs have under 600 health so when i sit in my shield set they almost never go for me.

PvP of course is patient

As recommended, I am now working for the WoH build. And thanks for Khezial's suggestion, I got Light of Deliverance and Glimmer of Light pretty easily from Nightfall LoD is so much better for me than Heal Party.

WoH was one of the first monk elite spells I bought through PvP faction. I got HB and other elites too. I can run them on my Heroes *party dance* Monk elite tomes are a bit costly for me though; 7k out of 11K I earned so far went for the Sunspear 60AL armour. I am saving up for 80AL armour for my Warrior now
