I am thinking about buying myself a set of female mesmer obsidian armor... I was reading on guild wiki about the armor, and it said that the female fow armor had a glitch while in the animation:
"Female Mesmer Obsidian Armor has a graphic glitch when character is in the running animation. It's where you see black squares stick out of your buttocks."

To anyone who has female mesmer obsidian: is this true? And if it is, is it that significant/noticable?

Yes, the Obsidian hose does clip slightly. I don't have a screenshot of it myself, but I expect you can find some in the Screenshot forum (there's a thread of armor bugs, or at least used to be, that you can look for).

Wiki is correct, it's quite a bad clipping problem, yes.

The good news is that it is not always there. It only happens when the game auto-switches to lower res/polygon graphics to show your character. In other words: when you zoom out. On my PC, there is no clipping during normal viewing on the default zoom distance, and neither one tick above it. One more and it clips. YMMV.

On lighter colors it's horrible

dye it black to hide it some more. I usually play a couple of notches back from max zoom in, then it's fine

this only happens to me when I zoom far out. when I am zoomed in, about hlaf way the clipping stops.
