Any profession can bring 2 Ranger Heros, give them Sup Wilderness Runes, and make them both echo Dust Trap (w/ a Tripwire to keep things still) and a Monk to hide somewhere just incase to res.

I've been doing it for weeks on my Ranger... 3 trappers, 1 Echo, 2 Spike and sending them off to hide in a corner while luring. Recently turned into 1 Echo 1 Spike 1 Shadow Form (to lure better without getting annihilated). Don't even have to be Primary Ranger...
Can't you just stop with giving all those negative comment on builds? We don't care for how long you already did this.
OT: I like the build and I'm using it myself. Good job!

Yeh, i've been doing this on my ranger for quite some time. Been able to solo the first 2 groups. Although, the third group, the fiends, get me every time. But if you find a group, usually 3 or more, they finish the 5 or 6 groups of Stygians.

Drops are decent; nothing spectacular. Good if you want some Stygian gems, as they drop rather frequently. as a matter of fact, I traded a stack of 15 gems for some passage scrolls, and a decent gold. Stygians sell, as i've been told, around 1 or 2k ea. Not bad once you get a stack of em going.

Golds, on the other hand, are "meh". Golds could drop more often, but of course, we all say that for any farm. Necro, and warrior, and ranger tomes have a chance to drop. None elite, though.

If you do it in Hard Mode, it gets slightly better. Plus 8 LB points/kill is pretty decent. Just hit LB 7 on my ranger last night after a few weeks farming on and off. If you do it solo, it's a couple thousand XP/run. Math is, each kill is 264 XP gained, and 8LB points. 18 mobs total in each group. 18 * 264 = 4752 XP, and 144 LB ponts/group. Pretty good for hard mode.

*edit*

Tried this, and worked pretty well. I loaded up Magrid the Sly with EoE, Winno, and EW, and rebirth in case of emergency. Gave her a sup beast in the helm, and a sup wilds in her chest. 140second spirits, and brought her along. Had her plant my spirits first thing, then flag her off radar, plant my traps, and lure from there. Was able to clear first 2 groups fairly easily. Because i gave her EW, I didn't have to have it on my skill bar, put on natural stride instead for luring. I would have given her QZ, too, if it weren't for it dying in 49 or so seconds.

I did 2 runs like this last night. First run was pretty good; 3 gems, and 2 grapes total. Was pretty happy. Although, second run was only all whites, was pretty disappointed. I'll be trying again tonight with her laying my spirits for me. I hope to be getting 200+ LB points/run now, and a pile of gems/golds.

Too bad, though, I didn't think of this sooner; like 2 runs previous for example. Because I killed the second group, but like 3 of em followed me. 3 golds dropped: a Igneous Axe (req 9, too!), and 2 gems. The goons killed me, tho, before I could get to em. If only I had brought Magrid with rebirth. D:

So, to all you young, and up coming trappers. Follow my example, and learn from my mistakes. Bring some heroes, and flag em off radar in case of emergencies! You'll hit lootscaling, anyway, so why not? This way, you might actually get their drops.

And be at least LB 3, or else you might not succeed. Some say be at least LB4. But I was doing it at LB3. Just be smart about it. You'll be gaining LB ranks really fast doing this.

The fiends are HARD. You have to place spirits about 1 whole aggro bubble behind your traps. (Bring a R/Mo hero with you. outfit them with your spirits except QZ, because you need to recast it when it recharges with the rest of the spirits. Then flag them off radar somewhere.)

Bring a running skill of some sort. I like Natural Stride, as it's 33% faster, with 75% chance to dodge attacks. Even with this on, the chance of you dying to the fiends' ranged attack is pretty signifigant. Sometimes you get lucky, and they stay on the traps; other times, they kinda pitter off.

But, also, don't forget to outfit your ranger with some sort of hard rez! I gave mine rebirth, because it's well, duh, rebirth, :P

All non-ranged enemies are simple to kill. Just aggro, and run away. They will be aggroed again by your spirits. Giving you your window of escape.
