I need an idea for a build that consists of:

- Only Mesmer spells
- At least one signet
- Only spells 5 or 10 energy needed
- Illusion Magic is most important

Clumsiness
Signet of Clumsiness
Auspicious Incantation
Power Drain
Power Return
Resurrection Signet

Pretty simple, probably not perfect, but you can use Frustration to ampilfy the damage from Clumsiness and Signet of Clumsiness on melee, to provide punishment to casters with Power Drain and Power Return, Ineptitude to blind, and Auspicious Incantation to get energy back (using Clumsiness most likely, as it has a decent recharge anyway). Wasn't sure if you would count the res signet as a signet, hence the signet of clumsiness.

ShadowbaneX is right too of course - Signet of Illusions + a bunch of mesmer spells should provide flexibility in terms of what to cast.

That's a pretty strict set of parameters, so I couldn't really make much. I'm sure this can be improved quite a bit, but I'm feeling lazy right now. What in the world is this for anyway?

EDIT: I'm retarded. Stick some like 8-9 Fast Casting in there and take a few points from Inspiration.

Only Illusion Mesmer spells, one signet, and only spells at 5-10 energy. No elite because it didn't seem like you wanted one. No real use because it didn't seem like you wanted one.

Just a thought, but it seems you could get better results by saying "I need a build that can do 'X.' I would like it to use Illusion and have decent energy management."

effectivness is not one of your points so just pick random illusion skills with your criteria

If you're going dom 10+1+1, i would consider Power Spike and a dom skill in place of Frustration.
And maybe change Phantom Pain for a dom skill too.

Rest is optional.
Illusion and domination are you highest attributes at least 10 + 2 for both.
Spread the rest between inspiration magic and fast casting pretty much any way you'd like.

Could keep 1 target knocked down almost constantly(before [skill=text]Signet of Clumsiness[/skill] recharge was nerfed), can still keep a foe down for a good time though.
It's great fun as it is 1 of the most annoying mesmer builds.

Might want to include another non spell interrupt, like [skill=text]Leech Signet[/skill] or [skill=text]Web of Disruption[/skill]

Oh and what is the magic word?

The funny thing is no one used this skill before GWENS Release (ok maybe a small few did with elemental skills) If it wasn't for PVE skills this one would gathering dust. IMO

you can have more fun then that viens. C'mon.

First off all you need more Auspicious Incantation for energy maintenance and arcane echo for doubling your fun. Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support and Pain Inverter are the main fun PvE skills. Where do you go after that though?

Well, you can go /E for the likes of Rodgort's Invocation (works really well with AI every now and then to keep your energy supply up). Since you don't care about attributes, why not then toss in a Ward or two, perhaps some fun Air spells like Gale, Blinding Flash or Lightning Hammer (which can work just as well as RI for the Energy Supply.

Got enough damage well, how about /Mo then? Heal Party, Aegis, Extinguish, Restore or Renew Life? Some of the best party wide support available from all over the monk class cast very quickly (yay fast casting!) and you don't even need to spend any attribute points. In this case use AI with Heal Party. Not as good for the Energy, but you'll still get 30 out of it.

Don't like that, well, how about a hexslinger. Take whatever you like from Illusion, Inspiriation and Domination and mix with either Blood, Curses, Death Hexes or Shadow and Deadly Arts. Just start tossin' hexes at anything and everything (SoI doesn't mix well with Deadly Paradox though).

Want to mix it up a little, perhaps you're going with rangers or some such, well, there's always /Rt. Weapon Spells, Spirits, perhaps even item spells. Granted without Spawning Power they don't last quite as long, but there are plenty of options, the least of which are Splinter and Warmonger's. Since you don't care about attributes grab whichever you like and toss them in and use them at great effect.

To me SoI just seems like the ultimate support skill. Just take it and good support skills from whatever spell-casting class you like and just go nuts. Damage, healing, buffs, whatever. With SoI they can do it all.

you're right. Why using an elite to use spells at max attribute, if you could just max the attribute itself and use an serious elite instead.
SoI is just good because it gives great spells without grinding
