Curse

I invented this build while slaughtering yetis in HM for Luxon faction. I was using Discord heroes, and I got tired of the usual Cry+Promise build. I figured if I brought enough AoE hexes and Conditions I wouldn't need instant recharges or pve skills to feed discord. After several evolutions this was born:

What I ended up with was a rather damaging build that also has great shutdown for attacking classes. The only thing I would like would be either more e-management or a self heal. Signet of Corruption actually provides decent energy when paired with enfeebling blood, but I would consider dropping empathy for something else (though it's an almost decent back-up to fuel CoP). As of now, when I run low on energy I just spam Necrosis.

You may ask, "why bother with domination?" Because otherwise this build would just be some lame fast-casting curses build. Also, the curses skills I use the most don't need high attributes to be effective, so my points are free to be spent on another offensive skill line. Also, VoR gives me another AoE hex and is made of awesome.

Is it as effective as AP-CoP? Maybe, maybe not. But I do know that it is fun, and you actually feel like you're doing something more than making yellow numbers. It doesn't have the universal shutdown of the Mandragor-in-a-can, nor quite the spikeyness of AP-CoP, but it does have some of both in a nice little package. It's also easy to use, which I always find to be a huge plus.

it seems to me that [[visions of] and [[shadow of fear] counteract each other. with visions you want them activating their skills faster not slowing things down so they activate attack skills slower.

I would drop some of the hexes for some more e-management , most likely empathy. Nice build otherwise.

VoR Triggers on skills, not attack. Shadow only changes attack speed. so the only time it would be counter effective is on attack skills. On everything else it would work fine.

I can understand your reasoning behind behind [reckless haste]. But I think you underestimate the usefulness of Shadow of Fear. SoF's biggest benefit is that it has a 5 second recharge (that and it lasts inordinately long). That means that whenever you need a hex, SoF is good to go. And on top of that, it's AoE. The 10e cost is a bit high, but to get a similar benefit out of either skill line I'd need to bring suffering. And I think the debuffing power of Shadow of Fear is better than -2 degen. But I will look into reckless haste and see if it improves the build or at least makes for an interesting variant. Perhaps it's longer recharge will simply force me to use my other skills more efficiently...

I had thought about bringing guilt in caster heavy areas rather than empathy, but I'm not sure what else I could bring for energy management. Any suggestions?

Guilt is sadly as good of e-management as you could get without dropping points into Inspiration. There's quasi-energy management with [[Air of Superiority] but for some reason I've never liked that skill, plus you'd have to ditch one of your other PvE skills for it.

Personally I think I would ditch Empathy for either Drain Enchantment or Power Drain, with an attribute split of something like 11 Curses, 10+1+1 Domination, 7+1 Inspiration, 7+1 FC. I would also seriously consider ditching Domination though if I was only using it for one skill.

Add some points in inspiration and use auspicius incantation.
