Default Elementalist Runner

I have an E/Mo.

I am looking to do some light running. (I have no intentions of doing Drok runs)

I am thinking of making a water/air build with some condition removal as well.

I have mist form but was not sure what air skills to use with it for the increased running speed. I can get condition removal from the Monk secondary.

The purpose of this is just to blow through a few areas I have already explored to death with other characters.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I looked through the builds thread and Guild wiki prior to posting and did not see anything. (Sorry if I missed it) Thank you!

If you're sticking with water/air, I'd suggest [skill]Storm Djinn's Haste[/skill]. It's easily one of the best speed boosts in the game [it's a NF skill, but you haven't said which campaigns you have]. [skill]Armor of Mist[/skill] is a thought, too. Good luck with your running.

Sorry about that. I have all three campaigns.

I am not stuck on any skills. I thought that air/water made the most sense but I am definitely open to any suggestions. If you know a good running build please tell me.

Thank you.

Shadow forms rocks. I don't know why you would use anything else for running. My typical build looks like

[skill]shadow form[/skill][skill]deadly paradox[/skill][skill]storm djinn's haste[/skill][skill]death's charge[/skill][skill]dark prison[/skill][skill]shadow of haste[/skill][skill]dash[/skill][skill]feigned neutrality[/skill]

Runs everywhere that I've ever cared to run.

I personally do a mix of flame djinns haste, with holy viel, and mending as a cover for the two. I also pack a mend ailments/purge. Healing breeze is nice as well for the poison + bleed + hex places. I might pack a remove hex too... This lets me do desert, kryta, jungle, northern shivs, and ascalon.

I'm using something similiar to Dr Strangelove, just Flame Djinns haste instead of storm.

Also I'm not sure why the use of shadow of haste. Can help if you have a short quick run to the zone, otherwise the return to location is a little useless.

Shadow of haste/dash is there for chest running, so you can bounce back out and keep running.

You've kinda got a lot of free slots, as storm djinn's and shadow form together allow you to run almost any area in the game.

The only things that can screw you are traps, non-spell or untargeted enchant removal, or groups of enemies that take longer than 20ish seconds to run through.

ssnider75, I know what you mean about wanting to speed up getting through areas that you have already done with other characters.
I often include [skill=text]Flame Djinn's Haste[/skill] in my playing builds, it does pretty good damage to close foes and let's me run as much as I want when I want. This let's me play and also speed up travelling.
[skill=text]Storm Djinn's Haste[/skill] is a better running skill but I seldom spec for Air in PvE.
[skill=text]Armor of Mist[/skill] has a 1 second cast time and can not get kept up permanently, but does give a nice armour boost.
Consider [skill=text]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill] if you need some damage reduction (near immunity).

I use Armor of Mist, Mist Form (elite) and ranger skills...2 running stances, troll ungent, and Serpents quickness (I think that's the one, 33% faster skill recharge or something like that). Also an antidote signet, and a res if I'm chest running with other people. Armor of Mist and Mist form CAN be kept up permanently, if you have a 20% enchanting staff, enough points in water (I have 16), and by timing serpents quickness at the right time. Hit that, then both mists, and you can hit those again before Serpents quickness runs out...and then when they're close to expiring, hit Serpents, and both mists.

the best running as an ele has to be [skill]burning speed[/skill][skill]frigid armor[/skill][skill]elemental attunement[/skill][skill]fire attunement[/skill][skill]aura of restoration[/skill]

you can fill in rest with hex removal and such but really with burning speed and frigid armor you run fast with no side effect and with the attunements you NEVER run out of energy and with buring speed and aura o resto you can spam buring for a health boost.

I think I use dark escape in there somewhere, but that's basically what I use to chest run.

Thank you for all the responses.

I think I will just need to change my secondary to ranger to get the speed skills and use antidote sig.

Between that and mist form I should be ok for what I need.

I have never used burning speed so I have no idea how good that would be.

yay, someone took my suggestion for once! haha... ssnider, galigor's (sp?) stone staff is what I use, the energy and 20% enchanting is nice. Tenshi, what happens if you start taking lots of damage, or non physical damage?

Tenshi, Burning Speed? Well, it's certainly the fastest run, but it's only for 5 seconds.

We should hold a race!!

its a nice idea, but you spend to much time casting. I tried it on my dervish a while ago with melandru up, but its just to slow.

I use
16 earth
12 wilderness survival

stonflesh
stone striker
storm's embrace
storm chaser
troll ung
works well, even without an elite. could use Melandru's Resilience i guess.

Out of curiousity, why no love for mist form?

I thought it would be very helpful in running. You are impervious to damage. I do understand you can still be poisoned, blinded, etc. but all that can be removed?

Any thoughts?

Because shadow form is mist form on steroids.
