Yeah, I wanted to add some more dimension to the straight up healer and that's why I was discussing a heal/prot hybrid. So far I've come up with something that does fairly well.
The build can outspam necro primaries energy wise, and offers enough healing to boot. (plus convert hexes cuts through hex stacks like a hot knife through butter)

current hero setup:
[build name="minion bomber" prof=N/rt soulreaping=8+1 deathmagic=12+3+1 channelingmagic=10][jagged bones][animate bone minions][death nova][feast for the dead][infuse condition][foul feast][splinter weapon][signet of lost souls][/build]
[build name="renewal healer" prof=E/mo healingprayers=10 protectionprayers=9 energystorage=11+1+1 airmagic=4][heal other][convert hexes][heal party][prot spirit][dwayna's sorrow][glyph of swiftness][ether renewal][aura of restoration][/build]
and then depending on the area, I'll add another mm bomber, a curses necro, or some other utility character.

renewal and ench upkeep requires some micro, but is well worth it imo.

Nope, it only works on enchantments on you... not ones that ou maintain. Try;

You can use [Patient Spirit] in place of [Heal Party] or try [Life Attunement] instead of [Vital Blessing]

This one has you sitting at around 750Hp and you heal for around 470Hp. Healing circle heals you for nealy 350Hp so you can basically infuse forever. And yes... infuse will not heal you. It takes half your health after you gain from ER.

And yeah.. i wouldn;t mind people asking for an E/Mo Infuser for Dungeons and Elite Missions. I enjoy healing more and i get to play my ele as a different role. After all, don;t we all want to be [Master of Magic]?

Tried [great dwarf weapon][heal other][heal party][protective spirit][cure hex][glyph of swiftness][ether renewal][aura of restoration] and put myself in place of Mhenlo in my usual Mhenlo + Lina backline for what I planned as a nice, easy H+H NM Ragnar run.
Result: Cruised along with truly amazing ease up until the large 2xfirereigner/prophet/dominator group just before Ragnar on level 2, where I got my ass handed to me... over and over and over again. Since I didn't pack any consumables for what I expected to be an easy normal mode run, I eventually gave up after DP mounted.

Heal Party, even spammed on the recharge, couldn't keep up with the first patch of serious pressure I encountered, and Heal Other turned out to be too slow to spot heal effectively.

So, I'm afraid I'm going to have to write this build off as a failure. (Actually, first I should try again with Mhenlo back in and Lina out, then declare it as a failure if that fails horribly too.)

Where to go from here? I see two possibilities:

(1) The best thing this build had going was great dwarf weapon. Everywhere up until the mob that wiped me over and over, the knockdown on GDW kept things very much at bay. Perhaps one direction to take this build would be to make it a support build that happens to pack heal party instead of a monk replacement build. That means adding more utility -- probably PvE-only skills because of the stress on your attributes to get E.Renewal and Heal Party going -- to justify the build's place in the team.

(2) Try to fix the inability to handle pressure by changing to an infuse build? The thing that worries me is that, while infuse itself is faster, the self-heals to permit you to infuse repeatedly don't look like they'll be available any more often than heal other is.

i just threw these at the master of dmg and got around 60 dps

[skill]Arcane echo[/skill][skill]lightning hammer[/skill][skill]lightning orb[/skill][skill]blinding flash[/skill][skill]ether renewal[/skill][skill]glyph of swiftness[/skill][skill]aura of restoration[/skill][skill]air attunement[/skill]

[skill]Arcane echo[/skill][skill]rodgorts invocation[/skill][skill]fireball[/skill][skill]immolate[/skill][skill]ether renewal[/skill][skill]glyph of swiftness[/skill][skill]aura of restoration[/skill][skill]fire attunement[/skill]

with the insane self healing, ability to spam 2 copies of lightning hammer on recharge, and blind spammage, i took the air build to some HM mishs. it worked pretty nicely.

then for fun, i took my friend with me to the master of dmg, he brought Ether renewal, i brought

[skill]glyph of swiftness[/skill][skill]arcane mimicry[/skill][skill]mark of rodgort[/skill][skill]searing flames[/skill][skill]arcane echo[/skill][skill]intensity[/skill][skill]aura of restoration[/skill][skill]fire attunement[/skill]

and after i got all the right enchants, i spammed 2 copies of SF for about 10 seconds of 100+ dps haha

it was fun, but totally impractical :P


anyways, i got to thinking, how could i best exploit limitless energy?

Replace Flare with Infuse Health and Balthazar's Spirit with Vigorous Sprit, and you've got an Infuse spammer, which will contribute to the party a bit better than a Flare spammer

its not about flare spamming, and infuse will still leave you at half health even with Ether Renewal.

The point of my last build is ability to possibly maintain [skill]protective bond[/skill] on a number of party members, spamming flare to trigger Ether Renewals uber e-management lol

With Ether renewal you don't need the energy from the maintaing enchantments.
-4 Pipes is no problem if you have ER and at least 3 enchs on you.

Check out my post in the "best healing build" thread. Keeping all enchantments on yourself, you can recover 242 health per Infuse, which means you'll never go below 243 and will be able to heal yourself to full just by recasting Aura of Restoration and Vigorous Spirit. When a no-recharge 10e spell gives you 24e back while healing someone for 300HP, do you really need Flare for e-management?

ah ok i see. yes, your build would contribute better than flare spammage :P

however, if i were to take this to FoW, in a balanced grp as the bonder, i wonder if ER could really keep up with [skill]protective bond[skill] on the obby tank? ill have to test this.

i really like [skill]ether renewal[/skill]

the air build i posed earlier has replaced Searing Flames as my general PvE build, and i couldnt be happier

What do you mean by "keep up"?

If you're concerned about energy, you just need to aim yourself at the closest ally (the battery necro?) and spam Infuse to your heart's content while the tank is getting pummeled to largely ignore the energy loss from Prot Bond. If the tank is still taking massive damage even through Prot Bond, just move up and spam Infuse on the tank. And if your OB tank needs Prot Bond, you need to get yourself a better OB tank

If you're concerned about general usefulness, you could maintain your enchantments on other party members (because you can largely ignore energy degen). Also, you could lose Vital Blessing: without it, you "stabilize" at 228 while spamming Infuse, healing yourself for the same 243 per casting, and healing the target for 281 - only 19HP less. You could also lose Vigorous Spirit: it only contributes 21 points to the self-healing, so you'll "stabilize" at 222 and heal yourself 222 per Infuse, while the target gets healed 274. Holy Veil and Purifying Veil would be the most obvious replacements, because they can be used both on yourself (to power Renewal) and on party members (to help the other monk "clean up"). Holy Veil would be especially useful on the tank as a cover for Prot Bond.

granted its a Mo/Me but it uses Ether Renewal...

The ER Bonder

[smiters boon][divine boon][life bond][arcane mimicry][signet of illusions][smite hex][reversal of damage][smite condition]

Ally ele with Ether Renewal + other random fire damage crap.

Arcane Mimicry Ether Renewal.

Use Life Bond on all 7 other players, Smiter's Boon, Divine Boon, SoI Ether Renewal

spam RoD/SC/SH on recharge and watch as you heal 165 with each one and never die/run out of energy.

Bah, way too much downtime with AM x.x The only builds I recommend using Arcane mimicry in are with skills that outlast, or near outlast it's downtime (Elemental attunement, for SF spammers), or if you use Assassin's promise/Air of Superiority to recharge it.
