For me

Air Attunement
Ele attunement
Lightning hammer
lightning orb
Enervating charge if using enfeebiling take Stoneing
Blinding surge
Epidemic / Enfeebling blood

Last slot can be Ebon vanguard standard of honur > Rez> finish him

you can spike a target and cordinate the rest of ur team to follow that spike spreading conditions with epidemic shuts down large mobs of melee.

You just invalidated everything you ever said when you suggested that Mesmer is a superior primary to Elementalist in PvE. Mesmer as a primary is absolutely worthless, as there is nothing in Fast Casting worth using, and Fast Casting's benefits are generally non-existent in PvE. Energy Storage, on the other hand has Ether Renewal, Elemental Attunement, and actually grants some worthwhile benefits in PvE.

Elementalist role in hm? Teaching foes how to push the daisys up. Don`t mess with healing just because ele has e storage. Leave it to more healing competent classes.

Ever heard of Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support? Try it and you`ll rarely miss. So, all you actually need is AP, mentioned sin bro, glyph of sacrifice and m shower.

Please, enlighten me then. What can Mesmers do that another class can't do better in PvE? You won't be able to come up with a valid answer, because the answer is nothing, other than some silly farming and running builds. Sure, in PvP, Mesmer's are great, but, this isn't PvP.

as far as I can tell, the only advantage mesmers have over anything is being able to run Cry+AP

Believe it or not, I actually didn't think about running Cry of Pain with Assassin's Promise. I'm sure it's a good little combo, but, I'm fairly certain there's better, as running Me/A means you basically lose out on having a second profession. The only Assassin skill you'd ever use is Assassin's Promise, so, you're essentially going to be using nothing but Mesmer skills, and that doesn't sound very viable to me, to be honest.

NOTHING IS INFINITE - SO THE ANSWER IS INFINITE - THEREFORE NO ANSWER CAN BE MADE AS THERE IS TO MUCH TO LIST - some pilosophical crap I've picked up but seems applicable

please tell me what they can do better then other professions? all professions have certain things that no other profession can do (well atleast well) some of the mes hexes are deadly as hell...

only a truely ignorant person would state that....it comes down to how well you play the class to whether they are superior to other professions who bear resemblances to their class!
>>>>>>any class can do any other classes job...just not as well!

  1. mesmers are one of if not the best hex class...first or second to necros...
  2. there hexes are just as potent as some of the necro ones....VoR now its been buffed is superb...
  3. there fast casting attribute can make them potent with fast cast nuking - which is quite sweet for some players
  4. Mes can alter a fight better then most professions - albate monks and perhaps rangers - (with skill)
  5. their PvE skills are also great!
  6. they have the best interupt skills of all professions...they are better than rangers as there interupts require no line of sight and can shutdown any enemy with their range of impressive hexes / interupts / condition spreading!
  7. THEY ARE FUN - thats something other professions aren't - well IMO
thats enough of a list IMO....

I know they are great, lots of other people know they are great...its just the people who either cba to play them before condeming them or those who haven't play them enough or aquired enough HM based titles to realise they are very potent in PVE with some skill and time put into them

Tell me, what effect does Fast Casting have when it can easily be replicated at the sacrifice of a PvE skill slot, but open an entire attribute to you that is useful?

Quote:

No, they aren't. The only hexes worth bringing in PvE on a Mesmer are VoR, Arcane Conudrum, Wandering Eye and Clumsiness.

VoR, WE and Clums are all outclassed for the most part; one skill. Spiteful Spirit. Arcane Conundrum is heavily surpassed by BHA / Volley, which can also be used to spread blind and deep wound aswell; with the add on effect of interruption on hit.

Quote:

VoR is good, yes. It's only really better than SS when you're making the enemy miss over and over with their lead in a farming based build, though.

Mind Bender. Oh, and for the most part nuking is bad. The only decent version is CoP.

Quote:

why?

Divine Favour helps alot more than Fast Casting, and again; Mind Bender. Unless for some reason you find something other than Mind Bender, HB or SoL to run on your Monk bar.

Quote:

Their primary attribute, however, is not. It's the same reason as Ritualists' small usage.

Quote:

Unless your Ranger is retarded, line of sight wouldn't be a problem. Oh, and tell me one Mesmer skill that outclasses BHA in any way.

Quote:

That is an opinion and nothing but that. And for the most part; a fun build doesn't equate to an effective build.

Bring up absolutely anything in the support of a Mesmer primary in PvE; I'll be glad to argue against that, but please god if you're going to continue this take it to the Mesmer forum where it belongs. Oh, and PvE doesn't take skill. If enemies weren't so predictable and actually had decent skill bars, intelligence on the mechanics and certain aspects of positioning, PvE would possibly become more interesting.

And to repeat, if you want to continue this discussion of how easy or hard PvE is, or the efficiency of Mesmers in PvE, take it to a different thread.

Even if you forget Mindbender which takes a skill slot. Fast casting has also been cheapened by equipment like the 40/40 set.

Casting your spells 50% faster is equivalent to level 15 fast casting without needing a single point into the attribute and without runes or hp drawback.

That is why FC is so useless now.
