Change was still 100% uncalled for. 15e wasn't a problem for the power you got anyhow, you simply had to think about whether or not this was the "right time" to blind when it was 15e instead of like now when you just throw it on cooldown.

True. Now they should change PvE eles, which is called for...

I thought about that a bit. ANet seems to overrate conditional damage. Even with easy-to-meet conditions, mesmer spells deal ridiculus high damage (I'm looking at you, Wandering Eye, Ineptitude, WW/WD, Mistrust...)

So, we need more skills (an addition to armor penetration) with the following structure:

"Deals X damage to [target | foes adjacent your target | foes near your target].
If the target is [attacking | not attacking | moving | not moving | not using a skill | any other easy condidion you can think of], you [deal double damage | also hit adjacent/near foes | some other effect related to element (burn, 66% slow, knockdown, cracked armor, blind)]"

Other good damage sources are indirect: Make Mark of Rodgord (or Mirror of Ice) the fire (ice) version of Mark of Pain with either higher damge or greater area, since elemental damage as trigger isn't as abusive as physical damage (100b/VoS/splinter)

And make Double Dragon split fire damage packets in half for the 100b effect!

Lol, that Mark of Rodgort idea sounds awesome.. I can see Double Dragon/Star Burst eles raping FoW and perhaps even DoA already And, DwG would benefit of it as well.. Though, your assumption on the abusiveness of physical is still wrong. Slap a fiery sword hilt on and you'll be ready to abuse whirlwind attack as much as you like. Also, sand shards etc would abuse with pleasure..

Kind of random but I always liked the thought of a Conductor Rod in Air Magic so like
...
"Hex Spell. 15 seconds. When other nearby foes take lightning damage, target foe takes 10..38..42 damage." or something like that.

True, but whirlwind is isn't the insane trigger for MoP, it's splinter, 100b and VoS.
Whirlwind alone: marked foe is hit once with physical dmg (can be converted to fire)
Whirlwind +100b/VoS/splinter: marked foe is hit once with whirlwind and ONCE PER ADJACENT foe by 100b/VoS/splinter (<<< not convertible to fire*).

* Greater Conflagration might work, but if you have to use another elite slot for abusing MoR the same way like MoP, MoR should still have an advantage (area or damage) over MoP

changing Iron Mist to something like that would make sense^^

DwG isn't fire or cold damage - but since MoP also triggers on a whole group of damage types (physical = hacking+slashing+piercing), MoR/MoI could also trigger on any elemental damage...

Don't know why I wrote "DwG eles" there at first, meh, w/e, changed it.

Well, I thought you'd use it for any elemental damage, but I guess fire would be good too. Searing Heat/Tenai's Heat/Greater conflag abuse gogo

I've been trying Intensity, Lightning Orb, Invoke + Chain Lightning builds in FoW, and they work ok in there along with a bunch of mesmers and rits.

However I hate having to constantly maintain enchantments and always forget to keep them on, also they get stripped in a lot of places, meaning that you are just going to end up with heavy exhaustion.

Invoke + Chain lightning are great in RA ... and their usefulness ends there. Having 5 mesmers with Ineptitude, Keystone Sig, Panic, PI, and Energy Surge outright decimates anything that ellys, or any other class can put together in PVE.

But then both necros and rits are also more powerful than ellys are, the only really viable build for ellys these days in PVE is ER prot spamming, and then spec all your heroes with loads of damage and blast through PVE.

And as easyand OP as that might be, it is still far weaker than playing a Soul Twisting ritualist is.
