Default Confused

Hi all,

As I am a new player I sometimes visit the pvx wiki to get some ideas for builds. As I really enjoy playing a dervish, i search for dervish builds (obviously), I stumbeled upon this build.

http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:D/W_...Attack_Spammer

Now what strikes as odd, is that protector's strike is in there, which is under the strength attribute, which is the primary attribute for warriors. So, how come it is on there? Isn't is so that you cant equip skills from the primary attribute of your secondary profession?? so you see, I am confused. Can somebody please enlighten me :-)

thx

You can use skills, but you can't pump points into the attribute. So you can't increase the power of the skill, but some skills don't need to be pumped to have a use.

You can still equip skills for a different professions primary attribute, as mentioned above. You just can't invest attribute points into them.

In this particular case, protector's strike is added to that skillbar due to it's activation time and recharge. You won't get much extra damage out of it - even if you do trigger the conditional. But it does activate incredibly fast compared to scythe regular autoattacks, so it does in effect add more damage via compression.

this

protectors strike is usefull because of it's 1/2sec 'cast' time
another example of a skill that is usefull even without attribute points is bull's strike, which knocks down moving/fleeing foes
