There's running a good build. Then there's running a good build with skill. Fail statement...

Creativity for the sake of creativity is dumb. A lot of the time creativity is for the sake of creativity.

Try and make it compare to the efficiency first.

I didn't say it was autofail. I said creativity for the sake of it is fail.

If you want good results and creativity, compare it and test it with current builds. Otherwise, why bother if you're not going to match up efficiency? For fun, maybe, but some find running the most efficient builds fun.

oook well...umm being that this is PvE we're talking about here I'll put up this one, not exactly "deadly arts based" but it uses a DA elite for some fun.

[golden fox strike][wild strike][repeating strike][twisting fangs][way of the empty palm][critical agility][optional][optional]
It's no MS/DB but it's decent and fun for some giggles. I've nicknamed it the "Break-Dance Fighter" due to repeating's animation.

As it is it dosen't use many DA skills but there's lots of room to modify it, the only thing to it is setting up to use repeating constantly while WoteP is up.

[repeating strike] in pve??? if ur blinded or blocked ur no use and might as well back up and /sit till the fight is over. its a horrible skill anyways. kills what sins are good at..spiking/shutdown.

Thank you for the constructive cirtique, I always appreciate thoughtful comments like this...

Maybe I didn't stress the fact that I never claimed it to be and end all awsome shutdown/spike build, I even said it wouldn't stand up to MS/DB. It's a build for fun. Read fun not designed to be super effective but designed to use something non-standard for giggles.

And honestly if you look at it from a purely damage standpoint it's not too bad at all, the damage dealt is comprable to an average warrrior attack chain (DSlash notwithstanding). The reason it's not that great is because assassins simply have better options.

And to comment on your "gripes" with the build the things you listed pretty much shut down most physical damage dealers not just specific to this build. Also blind really isn't very common in pve and most of the blocking comes from ranger stances and last time I checked Wild Strike removes stances. But if you do keep getting hit with that pesky blind, I found this neat little skill when I was over in Kamadan; [assassin's remedy].

While it's not the greatest bar in the world the issues you mention have no relevance in PvE really in most cases. Most problems can easily be avoided simply by not being a bad player.

If you're half decent you won't attempt to attack with Repeating Strike while blinded or while a blocking stance is up so it will be instantly recharged so that you can get straight back into your combo after using Golden Fox Strike -> Wild Strike. The best thing is he hasn't even touched a secondary proffession yet so he can take epic goodness like Mending Touch, or Plague Touch, for condition removal etc.
