I thought it would be an interesting idea to go ahead and get ready making plans to take advantage of the Guild Alliance feature that will be in place with Guild Wars: Factions. The plan would be to start organizing and training a large PvP player base and train them, readying them all for mobilization once the new expansion comes out. I thought the Community Works would be the best place for this, since it is a rather large project that I am thinking of and would take more time and resources than probably anything that has ever been done on Guild Wars.

The idea: Collect enough names by a certain date, found a guild that would start out in a massive proportion (Perhaps nearing or at the 100 member mark within the first week), train them, branch out and form new guilds depending with capable members of the first guild at the head, and finally organize into an empire using communications, skill, and strategy.

Perhaps there could be 5-6 guilds (500-600 members) working in tandem. It could be organized down into ranks, such as Emperor (Guild Leader of the first guild), Adviser (Second in command), Lieutenant (Auxiliary Guild Leader), Sergeants (Lead Officers), down to individual Captains who would govern training protocols for their teams (players could alternate captains and such depending on needs/wants). Perhaps even lead Strategists researching team builds, and then, maybe when chapter 2 comes out we could employ Field Strategists, planning attack moves on enemy countries.

Organization and communication would have to be key to keep individual guilds from branching off by themselves and just keeping all the juices flowing. We might organize guilds into sections, such as the Chen Empire [Chen], Chen Elite [Chen] (ladder), Chen Auxiliary [Chen], Chen Something [Chen], and Junior Chen [Chen] (for limited access or low unlock players, specifically placed here as priority for being helped with their unlocking or tactics). We could possibly even have Chen Financial [Chen] (Elite farming) and Chen Something [Chen] (Standard Pve).

When we start out we would just do the Tournament and then GvG, getting players the faction they need to become more advanced, seeing who the exceptional players were, whose a good leader, ect.

No one would ever be kicked out of Chen for not being a good player, possibly demoted to a more standard playing field, but never removed.

Overall, though, the entire objective would be to get things ready for Factions. To dominate the world, establishing an empire. Perhaps we could kind of Role play around with it, having processions through towns and such ^^

I don't know, I just thought it was a neat idea. Anyone have any suggestions or would like to start making plans to put something like this into action?

at first when guild wars came out I thought it was going to be like 5 different guilds only. and those are going to be the main factions with maybe some smaller guilds in it. Something like shattered galaxy if you have even heard of it before...

I think preparing to mobilise a massive alliance let alone before we know much about how the entire system works but also before the release is a bit too big a step. If Anet saw that there was a massive PvP alliance already mobilising and smashing through the weaker other attempts, they would probably get a bit annoyed and say it was too early and the system was being exploited.
I'm also thinking maybe the Faction Wars system will require PvE unlocking of the lands first before you can fight in them. If true, it would be ruinous to have a load of short-term PvE characters in this alliance running through to unlock the maps.
I think this project you're suggesting has too much anticipation in it. I wouldn't be happy if this kind of uber-l33t alliance was already set up and ready to conquer en masse on the release date.

Don't think XoO wouln't try it, they are a good 500 strong or so (though some of it is PVE)

The whole point though, is to do something completely outrageous that will dominate for perhaps a short time. We'de atleast be the first Emperors of Guild Wars

I admit, it would be pretty cool to be in a uber-alliance and like march as an army through a city, a victory parade Power is just sooo tempting.

I LOVE that game's alliance system. You could actually just log on and fight. Not like guild wars where you have to either bother guildmates and/or spam LFG.

In beta there were few guilds and I thought that would be how it stayed. I guess the sigil price wasn't enough to keep the guild number down.

Cool its funny

It's funny because my guild has already started work on this about a month ago lol. Good luck beating us to it . We are already at 2 full guilds. The 3rd will come out in CHP2. The Guilds of Creegus is the name. Our alliance website is still being built though.
