Dammit...Valareos's site is down right now. I guess I'll have to shell out my own money for dyes.

Well if anyone ever wanted pink dye on a monk (look at my avatar), the combination is grey+red.

By gray, do you mean silver, or silver+black? The mix looks like silver+red to me, although I'd have to check Fezz's pics...

A: No. If you mix dye remover with dye you will have a slightly transparent color, so you will see the original (undyed) color of the armor through the new color you applied. [HINT: That's why people think it makes a new color, but it depends on the original (undyed) color of the armor.]

Thanks!
Yes it does if you use more than one, most colors when used with 3 dye removers create goldish or bronzish color.

Let me clear up the confusion with dye remover: It basically works like a normal dye, just that it defaults to your class's armor. Here's what I've discovered.

Ele: Purple
Necro: Red
Warrior: Yellow
Monk: Yellow (blue on tattoos)
Ranger: Yellow
Mesmer: Green

And well from what I understand, the FoW armors have a different default color but I haven't gotten to test on them. :P

I'm sorry to say that you're probably not going to get anything darker than black for your scars. I can't get lighter than silver on my 15k aero, so I feel your pain

*cough* see Fezz's charts, earlier in this thread... As far as I know that's the only attempt of making a comprehensive chart for mixes with greater than two dyes (and it's very well done, I might add).

I've mentioned this on a couple other threads, but sometime in the future I hope to make available a program I'm working on that lets you see the color for any mix as they appear on all armors- that won't be for quite a while though, so until then we have Fezz's charts of leetness

Great job, this looks really comprehensive, should help a lot of people out. Just a couple of things....

A: It does not matter what order you mix 2 dyes. However, if you want to mix more than 2 you need to know how the mix happens. Each time you mix dye, it treats it as 2 dyes and you get the result based on which 2 you mix. Therefore, if you mix Silver + Yellow, then add Orange, then add Silver again, it will not look the same as if you mix Silver + Yellow, then mix Orange + Silver, then put the two mixed dyes together.
Not true- I thought this for a long while myself (you may have actually gotten that info when I erroreonusly posted it on another dye thread ). According to Fezz, the guy who did the complete 3-dye mix charts, dye order never matters, and I've seen this to be true in my own experimentations. Good thing, too, since it makes mixing a good deal simpler.

Are you using the mix on a warrior armor? Warrior armor's base color is yellow, so a mix with 3 dye removers will seem really close to yellow on it. If you put the mix on, say, necromancer armor, I'm betting it would appear red.

I'd also like to point out that dye mixing isn't always consistent. First of all, necromancer scar armor and chaos axes dye completely differently from normal- FrogDevourer's got a good diagram for it here. Monk tattoos might also dye similarly, I haven't experimented with monk armor so I don't know. I've also seen some Fissure of Woe armors dye very strangely.

Second of all, a couple of mixes give vastly different colors on different armors: specifically, yellow+blue and green+purple. Still trying to figure out why this is so, but mixer beware when making mixes involving those colors.

Overall, great job- hope this helps a lot of people with their armor dying.

I will vouche that the order does not matter so long as you just add 1 Dye at a time, but if you do like was mentioned(2 sets of 2 Dyes mixes) I have no idea what will happen(so I will go test to get another opinion).

Edit: Did a few samples to test if mixing pairs of Dyes gave a different result than mixing single Dyes.

Blue+Green+Red+Purple = http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/7172/12in.png

(Blue+Green)+(Red+Purple) = http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/6721/27rb.png

(Green+Red)+(Blue+Purple) = http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/2338/38iv.png

So this means you can combine your Dyes in any way your heart desires and you will always get the same thing know matter how you choose to mix them, assuming you use the correct Dyes.

I'm assuming that since the underlying armor "mixes" with the dye you apply to it, it is almost impossible to make either Platemail or Knights armor lose its metallic tint through any combination of dyes...

I'm impressed. Just saw the extensive work on the various dyecombinations on the monk armor and the bottle chart.
That must have cost a pretty penny.

Thanks to all that worked on it, it must have taken some time.

I saw a female warrior wearing one of the 15k armor, and it was all dyed hot pink. it was the most AWESOME thing i've seen! I've tried lots of combinations, but sadly I just can't manage to get the pink hot enough. I don't have a screen, but does someone know the combination?

Well, my only advice. Spend a good amount of time researching on this forum. The Advanced Search option works again, so thats a start. I have seen numerous people with hot pink colors on their armor in this forum.

Once you find one of those ppl, id PM them asking about the color combination. lol, sorry thats the most help i can give atm. Good luck
