Default Guild Wars With Gamepad (360 Controller)

Yea, I know what your thinking... That would be uncomfortable to play with a 360. But the thing is, It really isn't. This is by far one of the most unique configurations I've ever seen. This was made by me.

First Download Pinnacle Game Profile -
Install it. Start it and goto game profile. Select Goto new and find GW.exe
Next select "Edit Configuration." Import my configuration found below. Enjoy!

http://files.filefront.com/Gamepad+W.../fileinfo.html

-Controls-
D-Pad Left
Friends Panel
D-Pad Right Inventory
D-Pad Up Quest
D-Pad Down Skills & Attributes

A Button Left Click
B Button Target Nearest Foe
X Button Cancel
Y Button Attack
L Button Action Bar Right
R Button Action Bar Left
Back Map
Start Target
L Joystick BTM Zoom Out
R Joystick BTM Zoom In

L Jostick W.A.S.D Keys
R Joystick Mouse

L Trigger Right Click
R Trigger Left Click

Quote:
L Button Action Bar Right
R Button Action Bar Left
NOTE
Resolution must be set to 1280x1024 and the skill bar must be in its default location. Also the scale must be set on normal (Its in Video Options Menu)

This is what Makes this unique.
When you hit L Button Action Bar once, it will goto skill 1. In order to activate it press A or left tigger. Press it again then it will goto skill two. Again then skill 3 and so on. Press R Button Action Bar once, it will go back one. This makes it so much more comfortable to play.

Well, I hope you guys like it! Enjoy!

I just saw this on Xfire: http://www.xfire.com/cms/xf_switchblade/

That might contain some extra info for your questions.

I recommended making one button Target Foe Next; possibly A Button. Then cycle through foes with A, reset selection with B, and deselect with X. And perhaps, making D-Pad Down Target Object Next and another D-Pad button Menu.

It does. It works with any gamepad with the exact button locations. Just load this and change the gamepad on the top right of the program.

This program is very easy to use, you can easly change it to your likings. I find my way the most comfortable.

I also just got a DVI to HDMI converter and connected GW to my Plasma. Whicked :P

de-sync your controller from your xbox

but this is pretty cool, effeciant? no...but cool yes. i see this as a guild weekend "bored lets try something odd" type thing, see how far you can make it in a HM zone with only xbox controllers or something. but very cool

I've tried playing GW with my normal pad with a program called X-padder. Not as easy as it might sound.

When my controller syncs with my xbox I just unplug it.

I dont find this hard to use at all. For Healers, yes but other classes I dont find it hard.

How do you use skills? Do you click them? That must make you pretty slow and inefficient.

Or you could just buy a controller.

This does look very conveniant, i just have a few questions

First
the obvius one, of course, What hardware requirments are there to use this? or where can people find an adapter?

Second
is this not a against Anet's Policy?
"You agree not to use any hardware or software, including but not limited to third party tools, or any other method of support which may in any way influence or advantage your use of the Service which is not authorized by NC Interactive, including but not limited to the use of 'bots' and/or any other method by which the Service may be played automatically without human input." Quoted from http://www.k-u-n-t-z.com/ksmod/
it doesn't seem like it would, but you can never be to sure and it's always good to here it's not.

if not

A usb slot.

Either a wired controller, here.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16874103020

Or a wireless controller, here

NOTE: If wireless you will also need this

Of corse you can find this in allmost ANY retailer that sells electronics (I got wireless and receiver at k-mart )

You can but it will require a bit of work. This I how I did it. I took a screen shot of me playing guildwars, then set that screen to my wallpaper. Then from there I got coordinates of each skill. Configure and you should see "Skill 1," "Skill 2" ect.. Replace the coordinates used for it.
