Now if we could take an OCR program and have it read the logs and then drop it into text files THEN it would be great because you could then do manual searches on it. That would really make this a thing of beauty. Great concept to this point though, keep up the good work.

Text logs were actually my original idea. I could do that much easier and still use my comp for other things. I'm not familiar with what you meant by an OCR though.

Ooh, good Idea, I didn't think of that...let me close this down for a sec and try and figure something like that out.

OK, so I tried an OCR program or two, and it seems that they dont like just a raw pic of GW haha. However, I had another thought. Is it possible in something like texmod to change the background behind the text white and the text to black? That would help for a live stream anyway if anyone has some info on it.

Alrighty, I made a couple changes, it should be much easier to read what is going on now...if you do end up taking a look please let me know ingame if it is easier to read. It is much easier to read whispers than come back here hehe.

While I was testing on another computer, I did notice the manner in which the page is updated. It is basicaly just refreshing itself, rather than a constant video. This would be why some people get really slow rates, it may have to do with distance. For reference I am on the Eastern Coast of the US.

On another note, i'd be interested to see a screenshot of some1 playing GW, with this in the background. As it shows my comp I really can't do it myself...only comp with GW on it =P

Not sure exactly how this works but its cool. Are these all pictures that get set back to your browser? If so, would it be possible to make seperate frames for the trade channel and for the party window? Like i said, I dont know how this works but this is my idea

Have two frames with seperate vertical scrollbars, take a screenshot (or however its done) of each trade advertising as it comes up and send it back to the browser. Having each trade as a seperate picture (or again as stated above) and then re-stitched together giving you the ability to actually use the scrollbar to see these past trades. The same for the party search.

Now this may all be acting differently for me. I am at work atm, I am on windows 2000 and using Internet Explorer 6. I am undable to scroll and it pretty much just sits there on my computer. Thats why I wanted to mention the ideas above.

It WOULD also be very nice if it would be possible in the near future, if the search isnt possible, to at least group the WTS and the WTBs together

Another Idea would be, I dont know if it can be done remotely via a web browser, but a "Launch Guildwars" button could be cool if you are not in game and see a trade that interests you.

While all of these would be great, they simply are not possible at this point. As for how it is running, all it is right now is a video of what I see on my screen. I was able to locate a program that streams its recording rather than saving it.

This being said, at this point nothing can be modified other than what we can ingame.

However, I am working on a way to convert the video into raw text. If this turns out to be possible, and practical, I may be able to create searchable and sortable text.

Sorry about my briefness, I had written this on my PSP so as to avoid leaving GW. I just wanted to mention that it is possible to launch a program from a browser. However, I actually can't edit the actual stream page, as the program is not open source. I could very well put one on my main page, once I find the actual method anyway. I am pretty sure it would be possible, because I know ijji does it for their games. Later on I will close the stream and work on getting raw text out again.

It would not be possible to determine the pixel height of a trade and rip image sections of that height and stream those?

I am simply trying to think of how to make this all scrollable and easier to view past things

That could be possible, of course I only have so much to work with haha. I will not pay anything for any programs to do this, but I do almost have raw text working anyway...just a few more blips to figure out.

Just an update, I was able to convert everything into raw text, the only thing Is it reeeaaallly hates how people spell things, so many things will show up wrong a lot of the time. And it takes me a little while to manually go through and fix everything. I will try and turn that off if possible haha. Anyway, I will try and provide a sample pic with ripped text in a few minutes.

Now obviously, that is of no use. I also tried it on the search window, but the way I was doing it, it did not differentiate between the two columns, so it was just one long string, and I honestly don't know the order it went in haha. The black and white was much easier to work with though.

If anyone can improve on this, by all means tell us.

Hmmmm, i wonder if there is such a thing that can spellcheck or fix re-occuring errors on the fly? Guildwars on spelling autocorrect... I bet nobody thought they would EVER see the day that would happen, lol

Hehe, was just looking at that again, and I noticed it is rather good at finding "(part search)" isn't it? Figures it picks the most useless part to be good at.
Maybe if people actualy used english it would work.

Now just on that other idea, maybe I should try to automate pics of one section to make it scrollable...only thing is there really is no way to time it correctly, so some may go in tons of times, some may go in no times at all.

I just want to say that what you created is just awesome Veliisx. Please dont give up. I feel that it is somethingt that the whole community could greatly benefit from.

About your converted text. What is so horrible about it? I dont have any problems reading it and your right, the (party search) tag is incredibly easy to find. If there was one thing I would do though if possible is, once it locates it, would be to remove it from the displayed textlogs. It adds useless information to be displayed and simply adds a little to the jumble.

If there was another suggestion I could make. Again I do not know if this is possible, but if you could convert it to Flash, or stream directly to Flash, the whole menu displayed in a browser could be scaled by resizing the window in a non destructive manner.

Thank you for your interest. And sorry about it being closed down at the moment. I had a little bit of an overload haha. I restarted my comp, and I am just doing a quick edit.

That actualy did give me an idea btw...What if I were to run the stream in a page using a frame (yuk I know but it would work)...that way I could put some stuff outside of the frame, such as a button to launch guild wars

Once again, I appreciate any responses, and if you want me to see what you have to say right away, shoot me a whisper, that way I can keep the stream live. Anywho...I messed around with some frames, and I didnt get it clean enough to use right away, I will work on this a little later possibly.

heh, sorry for all the responces, but I really am interested. We had something similar for another game I used to play years ago using the old Unreal Tournament engine, though It was meant as a web based two way communicator to view and receive text from in and out of game.

Yes the idea of frames is what I have been tryign to suggest all along

You could have one long horizontal banner at the top with just plain text displaying

Then bellow that, have two frames side by side for trade and party search

And Bellow that you could have your banner logo like Guildwars Live Trade and a Enter Guildwars button beside it
