Ok a little trivia question.

In de guildwars.ds file Jeremy Soule mentioned this:
# Extra bonus points if you can find where this is played in the game.
fountna:Guild Wars Special Edition Soundtrack/06_Prince_Rurik's_Theme.wma[1200]

Who knows where this is...can't find any clues on wiki's and on the board...

Would love to know the place though....

believe that the song was originally played for the 1st Presearing beta video. As for its location in the game, couldnt tell ya, that is if it actually is in the game.

I registered on DirectSong, but I can't find the Sorrow's Furnace pack. It only tells me I haven't purchased any music licenses when I go to the Downloads section. Did I miss something that I was supposed to do or is there anywhere else I can get the SF miniPak?

EDIT: I guess nevermind, I'd probably have to buy that Battle Pak thing, but if someone does know if there is somewhere where I could find it still or if there's another option let me know. ^_^

It looks like DirectSong no longer supports guildwars anymore....
I'm re-writing my DirectSong FAQ on how to get it back.

The only plus side of things..... is you can download any packs you own, and there a zip file (for each album) that in mp3 format, with no Digital rights management at 320 bit rate.

I can only download prophecies/eye of the north soundtrack and the battle pak.
There's no download option for my other orders on directsong. Great.

Here's a link to all of the direct song pack downloads:
http://www.directsong.com/wma/

You still have to purchase (or already own them) to authorize them on your pc.

If you login, -> My Past Order's -> Click on the "View this order" for each order, there will offer a download link to the drm free, 320kb MP3 version... which does nothing for intergrating in to guildwars.

Note: This is not a warez or illegal link. It's from there own knowledge base article: http://www.directsong.com/support/kn....php?article=1

Default Battle Triggers

I've noticed that unlike Prophecies and Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North have certain music when you're running around exploring, and other music once you've engaged in combat with a group of enemies.

As an example from the default GuildWars.ds file, let's look at Eye of the North:
Code:
# Battle (basic)
enbabaa:Guild Wars Eye of the North Original Soundtrack/21_Iron_Footfalls.wma[450]
enbabab:Guild Wars Eye of the North Original Soundtrack/09_March_Through_Norrhart.wma[450]
enbabac:Guild Wars Eye of the North Original Soundtrack/13_Claiming_Balthazar's_Favor.wma[450]
enbabad:*
enbabae:*
enbabaf:Guild Wars Eye of the North Original Soundtrack/28_The_Great_Bear's_Roar.wma[450]
According to this, the series of enbabaX represents battle trigger music, where X ranges from a-f in the example above.

What I'm wondering is - do these triggers exist for Prophecies and Factions, and it's just that the Guild Wars team kept the music the same for exploring and fighting? Or does this not exist for Prophecies and Factions? If they do exist, what are the commands? The ds file only has them for Nightfall and EotN as far as I know. If I am wrong, please help point me in the right direction.

Thank you for your time.

I'm wondering something, does the game have a detection system with their soundtracks to make sure they are directsong versions? I would think if they came from any other source it would be counted against your account for breaking EULA and risk a permanent ban.

Considering the DirectSong icon changes orange as a notification that other songs are being played, thus having a clear indication that such an action is supported, I don't think it will be counted against your account especially since no distribution is taking place.
