I'm afraid I got a Trojan warning while extracting the zip file. AntiVir has found TR/Hijacker.Gen Trojan. Is this normal and expected?

I couldn't do that.
But, I did find a way, if anyone with Windows 7 whose having the same problem as I was. Right click your setting.ini, right click go to properties, click security tab, push edit next to "To change permissions, click edit". Highlight your user account, below there should be a bunch of boxes with that you can check. Check full control. Now it should work.

Same here. False positive, I believe.

Brett, thank you again for continuing to support this mod.
It wouldn't be Guild Wars without it =)

Although I wholly trust ksmod (and am back to using it on a daily basis) just making information more readily available and such...
I would say all are false positives though...

run it after Guild Wars Starts up...I noticed with windows 7 (and most likely vista) you gotta run it as admin...

Run it after you've loaded/ran TextMod. You can run it at the main menu or character selection screen (for best results), or you can even load it an hour after you've started playing GW, it really doesn't matter.

I already spent an hour tracking down a bug to do with Windows 7 and it's default environment causing my old DLL injector code to not work! Anyways, I ran it a bunch of times and the sound effects and HD Textures always seemed to work so I think we're good to go.

Running Win7 Ultimate (N). The ksmod.exe stays resident even after quitting Guildwars, and if I try to start GW up again from the ksmod.exe, it spawns another process briefly, but doesn't start GW. A separate launch of GW.exe will start it, but the hi-res textures are not enabled on other players.
I then kill the ksmod.exe process and attempt to run from the exe again; no joy. Have to reboot to get it to work.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Khayman

Hmm, I'm pretty sure I know what is going wrong, I'll fix it tomorrow when I get some time.

Awesome! Thanks a lot, you're great!
I'll go try it right now!
EDIT: tried -email, -password, -character command lines and they all worked fine. Also tried it on my Win7 machine, shut GW down and KSMod was terminated as well. Great job!

Thank you so much for this! I discovered KSMod the day it got nerfed, and I am sooo glad to hear it is back! Thank you so much!
Quick question: When I zoom far out the armors go back to low rez or however you want to call it version (they did this with base gw too), I assume this is normal/it is running fine, right? Because they are high rez for everyone in towns etc otherwise.
But really, thanks so much for this mod. I read you don't play anymore, and I am just amazed that you keep working on this mod for us even if you don't use it yourself. That's a lot of dedication and kindness, so thank you so much!
