Are they being removed at a later point (a caching system) or what exactly?
Your client doesn't have all the High Def Textures, and the only time it aquires new ones is at a loading screen. So when someone loads their char into your outpost you're already in, and they are wearing armour you don't have HD Textures for, your client wont know this and will go to load them from the .dat, and probably crash, or load something really odd, or nothing at all. The only reason you already see the HD Textures is because when you enter that Obs/Mission, your client knows to download all the files it'll need for that Area. However once you're already loaded into town, there's no more load screens to get you new Textures.

@Yanman, around a page.

I never did -image and I've been running it for 2 days with no noticeable problems. I see all sorts of high res armors in towns I've never really gotten a good look at (and god it's perfect for finally having a real armor preview before you buy, as well as appreciating that classes you don't play don't really look like the blobs they used to.) I don't know if I loaded these armors before or not, but like I say, no issues at all... if I find the point where something has seemed to have 'gone wrong' from not using -image I'll post what happens.

Thanks again for this mod, it's awesome for people who want the best visual experience.

IlikeGW, if you play much with others and never reinstall the client you already got most of the textures loaded, since the client downloads them when zoning.
I prefer to run -image on every update though, since I dislike loading screens lasting for more then 5 seconds.

kunt0r, thank you for making this mod, it works perfect.
I notice that when I zone into a new spot, it takes a little bit longer then usual before everyone is displayed. Might be the way the textures are stored in the client that isn't fully optimized for a faster load.
But its only a question of seconds, so not that bad.
My framerates don't get affected by higher res textures at all, which is great news indeed. I suspected just a little performance hit, but guess I was wrong.
Even after playing loads of hours performance is still perfect.
I hope Anet looks into this and makes it as an official option in the client.

Thanks guys. BTW there was over 1000 downloads in the first 72 hours, and we're sitting around 1400 as of last night. Keep spreading the word though!

I have been using this for the past 2 days and all I can say is it is so amazing to finally see everyone else's armor in full detail without havening to party with them. I stopped the UT sound effects because it does not really fit in.

Yep, says it can't update the mod. Just curious do we need a new version for every update?

Yep last update disables this mod? Is this on purpose by Anet?

It happened with the UT99 Sound mod by itself, so probably not.

Texmod didnt stop working, whenever there is an update you have to download the update first, then exit out of the game, and reload it with texmod.
