Hi!

My question would be:

How can you remove the clouds? Every uploaded map I find is without clouds.

Thx

The people who were hosting the images have removed them after almost a year. There are several 100% maps scattered through the various mapping threads if you need them though.

Ok, thought I'd try this out... soz about posting yet another Map Help request, but I'm totally lost

Here's my current map of Tyria, at 1280x1024 resolution:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...MapofTyria.jpg

I'm currently stuck at 98.5% completion, but can't seem to find the remaining 1.5%

Any guidance would be most appreciated, thnx in advance

wall hugging is the only way your gonna get it, my last 1.5 was in the area between beacons and rankor but i scraped every zone twice and let heroes and hench kill any mobs along the way.

Thnx for the (if somewhat obvious) advice, Arren... glad someone replied

I'm actually looking for something a little more specific, as in another set of eyes, to maybe catch the fog that I can't see.

Obviously, I'm not expecting peeps to rush and drop everything to take a look , and am more than willing to provide zoomed maps of specific locations, as the cloudcover can be extremely frustrating.

BTW, have managed to net a further .2% - so now stand at 98.7%.

Thnx again one and all, and gratz to all those who made the 100%

I tried looking at your pick, but since you uploaded it to photobucket, well, Photobucket condenses pics. Almost always. SO when I down load your pick to compare to my 100% map, yours is smaller, and I can't do the simple map toggle to compare. Try uploading the non-condensed jpg directly to this site as an attachment. If you do that I'll see if I can find a missing spot. Or two.

Thanks!
Here's your map compared with my 100% map. Tkae note, that though a person can have 100%, there is actually a bit more than 100% of the map to be cleared (in relation to what satisfies the title req). So I simply marked places where your map varried from mine. I wasn't so sure about the fire islands, your pick had heavy cloud cover there.

To others, when taking a screen shot, be aware that the clouds always start at the same spot before they drift. If you immediately zoom out of your map and take a picture, the clouds will be very similarly placed to the sample pics you find online. I'll post mine in a follow-up post. So you can compare for yourselves.

I make no claims at expertise in mapping, i'm just a body who got my GMC.

Tips for tricky places in Tyria (prophecies)
*Great Northern Wall mission. - that place where you see the char in the cut scene, you can actually go there if you kill the charr instead of running back to the gate. It's not a full %, but it helps. Bring a running skill. You may need to make more than one trip.

*The Falls - There is a tricky loop in the far side of the falls. It leads you to a commonly missed spot. I've circled it on this map for baelian.

*Beetleton - My last .2% was in a little gulf west of beetleton. Check that area out. It's easy and could save frustration from needlessly running south siverpeaks.

*South Kryta - There are two uncommonly traveled locations in the south of kryta (likely cause they are in mission map areas. The first is the beach in Gates o' Kryta. The second is also along the shore, but this time in the D'Allesio seaboard mission. Hug both of these coast lines. In the latter mission, look for alternate routes to get back to that shore (but a little to the west this time).

*In the south shiver peak missions, you would think the map would be cleared from in the mission, but the cloud is actually cleared by standing on the otherside of some obstacle outside that mission. The reverse is also true. The ice river where you meet the Seer is a good example of this.

That's all for now.

Good luck

Here's my Tyria 100%. Remember that one person's 100% may be slightly different that another's. I know I still see parts of my map that could be cleared when i compare to other folks. So if you see things you've cleared that I haven't, that just means that my map will give you even more opportunities to find spaces you've missed.

When taking your Screenie, i find it helps to clear off the UI before entering the map screen (ctrl+shift+h). Just give you one less thing to fiddle with so you can take your screenie right away.

Happy hunting.

Hope i got the right person with this map.

for future reference, please remove pins/markers from map before taking pic. Makes it easier to compare.

Also note: I'm no steady hand when it comes to mouse drawing. The markers are general pointers. Feel free to download the map i posted and compare for yourself.

Edit: stupid slow internet and double posting. *grumble grumble*
