Alright, heres the updated map. After going through all those points, I'm left at 99.2%. I waited for a good time to take the screenie to see if I could get a shot with as few clouds over the zone as possible. Thanks for all the help Leighwyn, you own.

Bartuc:

On the route between destiny's gorge and thirsty river, there is a clump of green stuff not fully revealed. No very good landmarks, but its on the Eastern half and in the first big section of that area.

In the zone going north from Copperhammer, there is a spot in the very NE corner.

In the IDS cave of mineral springs, the very NE corner is not fully revealed

A few spots in Lornar's, one on the SW corner and two on both the top and bottom of the eastern part of the "throat" section near the start (before the first wurms). The top spot that I'm describing is sort of a part of the frost gate area, and the bottom part is directly opposite it as you travel south.

Your Dragon Gullet line that extends along the northern edge in the zoomed out map isnt as solid as mine, so you are prolly missing some edge there

Also a spot in the flame corridor, SE corner.

At the very start of frost gate, all the way to the west there is a tiny area missing.

Interior of the losaru-infested region between Ice Caves and Beacon's Perch, seems to be an interior spot missing in the middle, northern half. May be clouds

Borlis Pass ice cave bonus area, missing a spot on its SE corner

BIG SPOT ALERT! The beach due north of Lion's Arch is missing stuff throughout its expanse.

Very eastern part of Riverside, a spot that you can reach which reveals some of Sanctum Cay as well is missing. You have to walk on the docks there near the end to reveal.

Dry Top NE corner

Druid's Overlook, SE edge where the water is

Another spot in riverside along the south edge, sort of halfway thru the tan wall stuff.

SW Corner of snakes is missing

Maybe the eastern edge of snakes at the first troll cave, could be clouds.

Check those, repost map with new %

Cosyfiep:

In grendich, run around the northern edge to reveal a spot.

Great Northern Wall, take the last path on your West as you are fleeing (just before the gate that opens), where charr run out of. Explore that as much as possible to reveal more.

Eastern frontier, very northern edge, past the wall etc., just west of the weird red slashes. Can be revealed more.

NOTE: MISSING NORTHERN PART OF SURMIA, COULD BE MISSING SOME THINGS THERE.

Explore the "secret area" of Gates of Kryta, entrance near Oink and area full of undead.

In Lornar's Pass, where it touches the SW corner of Frost Gate zone, right before the necking begins, there is a spot to reveal.

Likewise in Lornar's, below the point just mentioned, there is a spot missing around the cul-de-sac where the first stone summit bride is, the northern edge of that spot.

Missing part of the "Secret Talus Chute area", if you dont know how to get there I think there is a screen in this thread.

In Frozen Forest, south edge, the western summit cul-de-sac area has a bit missing.

Frozen Forest northern edge, thoroughly recheck.

Eastern edge of the zone when you leave Copperhammer north.

NE corner of the zone mentioned above.

North area of Thunderhead Keep, all the black stuff that's missing out there.

NE corner of Dreadnaught's Drift.

NW corner of D'Alessio Seaboard.

NW corner of Divinity, as well as the mouth of the river in that mission.

READ: MORE GATES STUFF SO DONT LEAVE IT YET Explore the eastern edge of Gates of Kryta, most places of it.

Missing a spot in Riverside, southern edge, 5/8 into the tannish wall roughly (moving W to E).

North corner of Eastern edge of the HOD explorable area.

Very NW corner of the Kessex, I think you reveal it from the beach of Talmark Wilderness

North-middle edge of the explorable area outside Bloodstone Fen, along with the eastern edge of that zone.

You can reveal more of the Wilds mission orange stuff in the SW.

Very NE corner of wilds also.

SE corner of the west half of Majesty's Rest. The spot is the very SW part of the green area.

Almost immediately SW of exiting Amnoon Oasis, a dead end you missed.

NW corner of Amnoon Oasis, may be only revealable from PvP arena.

Southern edge of Hero's Audience city

SW and SE corners of dunes (dont need to go to the secret eastern area to reveal these, i meant the corners where the forts are)

SE corner of Arid Sea

Southern edge of Thirsty River (mostly SW corner)

I think very SW corner of Seeker's Passage.

You are also missing a map of Nolani Academy mission, could be lacking there (I sure was).

That's all I've found, I recommend doing all those, then reposting your 1024x768 zoomed-out map and I will try my best to glean any more from it (also post your % afterwards)

Leighwyn, just a few things from your list:

Quote:
West edge at start of frost gate
I think the discrepancy between our maps is because you're missing some, not me.

Quote:
Very western part of Sanctum Cay, which you reveal from the Riverside mission at the far east, where the docks are.
This bit was revealed from the Sanctum Cay mission, not from the jetty (which reveals one of the spots I gave you earlier)

Some more bits I found for you:
Compare our zoomed-out maps and look at where Lornar's Pass bottle-necks and then widens out.

In the Gates of Kryta, there is a very hard to see bit you've missed directly west of the 'Dreadnought's Drift' text. It should reveal a little more of those black things just off the coast from that notch in the coastline.

Thanks again

Hello guys,

Well first of all, let me thank you for the impressive work on the maps, it's very useful for those of us who get stuck at 9x.x %.

I'm currently having a problem with exploring the Northern Wall mission. There is an area which I can't seem to access (though I've tried going there from all over, inclunding old ascalon and the breach). Here is a picture of the area I'm referring to :

I'd greatly appreciate any help about the way to get there ! Thanks in advance

you are asking the exactly same question I asked before. After the countdown you go on the bridge and head back, and then you just findthe path on your right to that spot, the path is very short and you can easily reach the dead end. it is not difficult to be found.

Same for me. I'm sorry, but I don't really get your explanation (which bridge are you talking about ? There are three of them...)

I'll reiterate the technique that someone posted in that thread:
  • Download my zoomed-out map
  • Save a Screen of your own zoomed-out map
  • Rename both of these such that they are alphabetically consecutive
  • Run / Download & Install IrfanView (free)
  • Open the first image in it and hit Enter to enter fullscreen
  • Hit the right arrow to advance to the second image, hit left, hit right, keep quickly flashing back and forth between the two

You should be able to find the variables using this method, that's the way I found mine. The method really shines for shiverpeaks areas, but can be tricky for Ascalon and Jungle thanks to cloud cover.

I put the image as a second link in the original post.
If you could re submit a normal sized copy of your zoomed out map that would help. Your map is like 1375 X 1075, or some odd amount of pixels. If you , OR ANYONE ELSE, could post a 1600X1200 full zoomed out map, then we could all superimpose our own 1600X1200 in photoshop, hit the "difference" key, and see exactly what we are missing.

Thanks

Ya I'm not sure what I did to get that res. I don't have a monitor that supports 1200 lines, only 1050 max. What I CAN do is post a 1280x1024 and you can just turn your own resolution down to that. Check the links in the OP for it; I left it as an uncompressed bitmap for optimal usage.

Just as an FYI, the difference filter probably wont yield the best results since cloud cover will be completely different, affecting the contrast of every pixel on the map. I'll leave you to try it out and see to be sure, though I am guessing its effectiveness is probably equivalent to the "swap back and forth" technique I mentioned.

I really appreciate your work and your effort in helping other people, Leighwyn.
I'm following this thread since i made my map of Cantha.
Maybe it was the wrong place to post but since I was so enthusiastic about finishing cartographing there I searched for some place to share it.
Well afterwards I wanted to cartograph Tyria since it's double size of Cantha, meaning some special challange.
Besides the not accessible cooperative mission before Lion's Arch i got this one quote in my mind:
Quote:
...Obviously, we would not want to restrict any character from acquiring high-level titles, items, or access to high-end areas simply because the character was not a native of that chapter. To that affect, we have modified titles accordingly, so that a character can receive a maximum title
regardless of restrictions. In answer to your question, areas that Tyrian characters do not have access to in Cantha do not count towards the cartography title, and vis-versa...
Now I achieved 90,2% in Tyrian Cartographing but slowly i'm getting sceptic if a canthan Character can reach those 100% in Tyria.
I attached my map here:
A canthan map of Tyria
I know there are some unexplored areas in:
Snake Dance, Dreadnought's Drift, Lonar's Pass
Dunes of Despair
Ironmines of Molandune
Thunderhead Keep
Ring of Fire
Abaddon's Mouth
Hell's Precipice

but the thing is I can't see 9,8% in those spots.
So I also have one question to ask:
Do you consider it different?
Thanks already...

There could easily be 9.2% in those areas assuming you don't have them explored at all yet. Even partially explored those areas can get you very close to that and then you are problably missing slight areas in nooks and crannies.

Final Update
I'm at 99.9% and I'm puling my hair out trying to find the last spot. I'm now offering 10k if someone can find the spot and it brings me up to 100%.
