Hmm... doesn't look that different than my 89%, except your edges are a lot cleaner, but I guess that's what counts.

Congrats on the title. I have different things to worry about (like getting 4 more characters through Cantha >.>) but I'll definitely try to do some exploration this summer :P

Thanks to Hengis Stone and Carinae Dragonblood for the suggested areas to further explore; Carinae's was easy enough to get to so I've updated the map with the extra bits of Ascalon revealed. The spot in D'Alessio will have to wait till later, since you can't simply run there (gotta clear the village )

Thanks again for the input! Much appreciated

What is the area north east of Henge of Denravi? I can't seem to get there, I've redone Aurora Glade and looked all around the area where you fight the guardian, but no way to get there. Looks like Henge of Denravi use to have an exit going there, but its closed off now. Was it an old arena thats blocked off now, or what?

Yes, it's the Denravi Arena. To get access to that area in today's game, you need to do a little PvP (Random or Team arena, either suffices). As has been discussed, the area probably does count toward achieving 100% but, also mentioned before, you thankfully don't need to reveal everything to get to that point.

In response to the question being asked, I added some neon green arrows to the map showing areas that you either can't get to any longer or that are pvp arenas.

Having looked at my map again when I got home from work last night I realised that I was mistaken, sorry. I was actually thinking of the Gates of Kryta, and I think you have the same amount filled in there as I do. Sorry to build up your hopes.

On a positive note though, I reached 96.7% last night with the help of your maps.. That elusive 3.3% still remains to be found though!

Leighwyn, your map was good enough to teach this old dog new tricks! Though I had the 100% exploration title already, it was pointed out to me that I was missing the Dunes of Despair bonus area. After clearing up that oversight I used your map to check for any other deficiencies and found that I was missing a small bit to the SE of The Falls and the whole Charr staging area in The Great Northern Wall (which I guess you were missing as well when you first posted your map). I've now cleared those areas, and I probably never would have noticed I was missing them without your excellent map to use as a reference. Good job, mate!

Curious.

Does Pre-Searing count toward this?

.. or, a better question..

What doesn't count toward this?

Now I feel bad for being the reason someone had to return to such a nasty PvE area

With this map i've gone from 97.8% to 98.9%.

The only part that is pissing me off is that i've found at least 4 areas that haven't been revealed on that map, and i'm still not even close!!!!

Seriously is everyone sure that FoW/UW don't count towards this.

There is almost no way in hell there is 1.1% left in Tyria without including areas you can't actually reach in zones. The only place where there is even the slightest chance theres that much left is UW where i've only been the Village and Smites (ie, trapper)

Sadly, those things don't count. It's anything you can immediately see when you hit M, as far as everyone can tell. My own experience was much the same...when titles were first introduced, I started out at 97.1% and thought for sure I had everything revealed. Turns out, some areas didn't have the cleanest borders and I eventually got to the 100% goal.

If it helps, places I needed improvement on were....borlis, frost gate, divinity, surmia (the lake was HUGE), north gate-piken area, north edge of mineral, "secret" area of talus chute, edges of iron mines, and the dunes secret area.

Annd please share the love about those areas you've found if you can remember them. I've gotta know!

I tried doing random arenas and played all those areas, but they did not get uncovered. I don't think you can uncover any of the pvp arenas any longer now that they moved everything to the "battle isles". So there will be several areas that count towards the title that are no longer accessible it seems.

In reply to Carinae, it isn't exactly secret, thats what the quotes were for It's the path that lets you get the section between Talus Chute and Ice Caves, where you walk up random hills you shouldn't be able to and can see a vast sea of ice when you look east (since the game doesnt render anything outside the zone). I attached two pics showing the area.

In reply to zerulus, I think you can still map the arenas while you're playing on them. Like, you could get the Henge arena mapped by running around in it when you randomly spawn there. The staging areas of Droknar and Random arenas, though, are probably never accessible again.

Thanks for the map. I doubt I will ever get 100% though. At roughly 85%
