I noticed that in your video you were using uMod. I'm interested in it because it allows for the use of command line arguments.
I tried to get it to work, and you were right in your post in the uMod thread. It is a little tricky to get up and running.
I got uMod itself running, but I don't see any changes when I hit the update button. I've been trying to get IGMM (All).tpf and Cartography Made Easy Complete Collection.tpf and so far no luck. Have you been able to get anything going with this thing?

You are a genius, you beautiful person you. I thought my Guild Wars gaming days were over when my laptop imploded and I learned that I would only have extremely limited access to a Windows computer, but nearly unlimited access to a Mac. But thanks to you and this Guild Wars client, which was extremely easy to install by the way, I can fill out my Hall of Monuments and have buttloads of Guild Wars fun, all on a Mac. You ever see me in-game (IGN: Redd Rathe), hit me up for some free stuff. :P

Not that I remember, it just does not want to cooperate due to it using hooks to get into the game. It's the same thing with GwDressUp, and a zone timer that my guild is working on. I have been looking into it, but from here, I don't know if theres a way to get it to work.

Still, I have had some random successful runs, so I believe it is entirely possible. I'll keep you posted.

I can't seem to get this to work. I can only run it once, every subsequent run the icon just jumps up and down on the tray and freezes after a while, without starting anything. I installed version 1.2 three times now. First time it loaded the files but I got a black login screen. Second time, I put the "-image" command in wineskin. Downloading took ages and I was asleep when it finished, but as fas as I can tell, it never started after loading all those files. Third try got me to the loginscreen, but I wanted to make sure I can run it more then once, so I quit to check it out and turns out it doesn't. I refreshed the wrapper several times during the second and third try, no result whatsoever.
I'm certain my MBP is capable of running it, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I will try the 1.3 beta now, but I'm hoping you might have some sollution, as I have no other idea how to get this working.

The client can take an unusually long time to start up in certain cases, you must be patient. Also, black screens can be an issue when this happens. If this happens consecutively, right click the app >wineskin.app> advanced > tools >refresh wrapper.

Also, you know that the -image command will not run the game if it is in there, it will just download all the files, once that is done, and you start up the game with the flag added, the client will do nothing. This is true for PC as well.

Tell me if it works out.

I might have not been clear about it in my previous post, but the first time it starts up immediately with the grey loading window. The second time the icon just bounces a while on the dock and then stops, without actually activating. So it isn't so much a long loading problem, but that it doesn't load at all. The only option is to force quit it. Refreshing the wrapper didn't change anything.

I have, however, found a work-around: Instead of just starting the guildwars app, you need to rightclick>show package contents>open wineskin>advanced>Test Run (debug mode)
Refreshing the wrapper might be neccesairy, but I haven't tested it without refreshing it first.

Hmm, what mac os are you running? I have had a problem when it would just show a black screen and never boot up, and that it wont show at all. But refreshing the wrapper then trying again always fixes it for me. Sorry I can't say more.

I'm running OS x 10.5.8
But like I said, I found a way around it that works, so it's fine for me. Posted it, because others might have the same problem I had.

New version 1.4 will be up momentarily.

This new version has Wine 1.4 installed into it. So far it has made my game more stable and less buggy, with the anti-aliasing enabled. However, I can't see everything, so please post anything that seems out of place whether graphics, audio, or control wise.

Also, the file size for this one is considerably larger than previous versions, because of this I have gone back to mediafire for downloading.

I'm having a graphic rendering problem with the newest release, I get the following screen whenever I attempt to open guild wars. The Opening Music plays. I've tried refreshing the wrapper. There is no effect.

MacBook Pro
2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2

New version up, 1.5 uses Wine v1.5, in the updates itself it says "Fixed Texture Corruption in Guild Wars", which may or may not be the majority of the problems people are facing.

Wow thats different haha, try the new release and see if that helps at all. If not, run the game in Test Run (Debug Mode) found in the wineskins.app. And post up the run log when you are done.

So far it seems that there is a problem with OpenGL on your computer. My best guess is it being your Intel Graphics Card, they're known to be a bit flakey when it comes to gaming.

I don't have the time to look into it further at the moment. But try using my 1.2 version, it has various graphical options turned off, it might be the best place to start at the moment.

Also, I'm thinking of making a video on how to make the wrapper yourself, so that the wrapper itself can be better tailored to your specific machine.

The intel graphics card was my initial thought as well. However, I booted into Windows and the game ran smoothly. Maybe the difference is with the driver installed via bootcamp, but at the very least it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue.

I'm going to run a full system update and see if that could fix any of the problems.

EDIT: I ran a system update and that seemed to fix the problem. If you are having the same issue I did, make sure you upgrade to OSX 10.7.3 since it contains an OpenGL update from 10.7.2

What Graphics Card/Version of OSX? I fixed my problem by upgrading to the most recent version of OSX. Also, try using the -diag switch in the command line on wineskin since it will run the GW diagnostic utility which should tell you if it's capable of being run. (I'm not sure how it would work on a Mac via wineskins, but it's worth a try)

Heya

Thinking of returning. I've had GW running fine in Bootcamp before. Wanted to try in OSX but i've only got 10.6.8 and there is no point me upgrading to Lion until I get a new Macbook Pro. Can I get some confirmation will the 1.5 version work with 10.6.8?
