I don't really like how it's assumed that every single player is able to access the camp, like every single player aligns themselves already with the Shining Blade (assuming you meet the mysterious requirements in place for you to observe the camp in the first place, that is, since there seem to be some that can't).

There ought to be some kind of NPC or set of NPCs introduced into the game somewhere that allow the player to claim their sort of alignment. Players aligning with the Shining Blade would get to enter the area and see all of the camp. Players aligning with the White Mantle could perhaps see a few Mantle scouts roaming around confused, maybe with some mention of a nearby camp, but no Shining Blade in sight.

This would be sweet, since I'm all for Obey'ing. I was thinking of attacking the shining blade as I was checking out their camp in Talmark. But was disappointed when I couldn't kill them. =\

Wondering why there's no white mantle camp/base, or if there is where it's at?

the theory is the shining blade made it to 500 facebook fans before the white mantle.

and since it's the long weekend, we'll be waiting on further updates.

I still think it's funny that the two of them don't even have a thousand fans combined (many of their members are shared) on Facebook.

Either there aren't many GW players on Facebook, which wouldn't surprise me, or there just aren't that many people that care/play the game anymore.

Or not everyone who plays the game and are on facebook have heard of this little game, or cares enough to do more than watch until there's something for them to do.
Also, some people might want to join in, but feel it'd make them look just a tad too geeky to their friends (who can, obviously, see them join it on their updates). I'm in this camp.

. I don't see any reason to 'fan' something on facebook, but maybe that's just me. Doesn't mean I don't read it.

I sure would appreciate one of the Community Managers giving us a clear idea of what needs done in order to trigger the dialogue between Thackeray and Gwen, the Shining Blade Camp in Talmark Wilderness, and any future things such as these. Restricting players' access to this new content on account of not knowing for certain how to get to it is not nice... not that I think they're restricting this information on purpose (read: to be spiteful), but it would probably eliminate a lot of concerns and theorycrafting on how to activate these things to just be told how it works.

Also, since it didn't seem to be mentioned yet, the Shining Blade site has covered up the ripped poster with another of the old DISMANTLE posters.

Apparently thou doth not remember the good ole days when you actually had to figure things out on your own. No pvx or wiki to tell you how to wipe your own A$$. I'm kind of glad they don't post exactly what is going on so people can't go 1-2-3-4 something and done.

Isn't that what NEW content is all about? Playing around with it for awhile to see what works right and what doesn't? It would be much better if people just closed out of their Pvx/wiki and just played the game for a little while.

Back in the "good ole days" the NPC's had big green exclamation points on their heads too. So that you knew where the heck to go and who to talk to. You didn't need wiki or forums to figure stuff out because you could see in-game what had to be done.

I'm with Shayne on this one. Not knowing the 'trigger' is more annoying than anything and seems to be poor planning on the part of the devs, in my opinion.

Heck, there's even a person in the Thackeray thread who says they completed the Thackeray/Gwen stuff on a monk that had only finished Faction and Nightfall. So that's a change to what everyone "thought" were the triggers.

1. Since about March 16th we got clues on fliers to search guildwars.com as to clues and getting people talking about something that is coming. Which we are still getting almost every other day with new stuff.

2. April 2nd, these in game updates are put in secret, for players to discover and discuss with each other.

3. You can't not get quests for this or activate anything to do with the battle yet. The whole thing starts up April 23rd, GW's birthday

4. Your character needs to have completed EOTN to see, the Shining Blade camp, to see Gwen's new conversation which automatically starts up when you walk into HoM and Salma was added to ToA.

That is incorrect. Read the "Thackeray Scavenger Hunt" thread and you'll see. As for Talmark Wilderness being related to Eotn, don't know about that. Haven't had a chance to wander out there with any characters yet. Might check that today on a character that has finished Eotn but not Prophecies, provided I have time.

I don't think they are related, how could they be? Gwen thing seems to be about the birthdat of GW and the shining blade/mantle thing seems to me to be a different thing. Could be wrong ofourse

Checked out the camp, nothing much happening except everyone being annoyed about meeting up, was hoping for some quest or something xD. Anyone know if this is Guild Wars 2 related or just related to the 5th birthday?
