I picked up a Radeon 9250 256mb card for about $100 CDN. I can run GW on the highest settings with no problems. I bought it online and in CDN money, so I'm not sure if you could find the same price or even how close that is to your price range (I think it's a little bit high though).

What kind of slot does your comp have? you might wanna push your budget up to $100 to get any kind of decent card.

I recently found that Wal-Mart is selling a Ge-Force Fx5200 (not the latest and greatest but will prob suffice). For around 80 I think. You will honestly have to either call/look but you will find the prices more exuberant than online. And to fix your space bar try this:

1) Remove the space bar (isn't too difficult unless you have a laptop with a complex quietkey design that makes it hard to put it back together) OR if you don't want to remove it (it will be quite a bit harder)

2) Find a small headed q-tip OR tear pieces off of a cotton ball(and wrap tightly around a sharp object to stick under the keys...a rubber band could be used to hold it on) and dampen them in rubbing alcohol and give the bottom side of the ke a good cleaning.

3) Wait for part 2 to dry. The next step will be difficult if the key isn't removed but use the same method described in 2 but use WD-40(or graphite) to spread on the moving parts... their pretty obvious. This should clear up anything along the way and if this doesnt fix it, then I suggest buying a new keyboard cuz that one is seriously messed up.

Wal-Mart *shudder*

Don't do it! Buy a 9600 XT for 100, it's better for Guild Wars, its faster, its recommended for Guild Wars, its ATI, its a little bit more, its not at Wal-Mart, its really good for guild wars....

I have a 9200 and still get great graphics.

In 13? Er... alright...

Is it that hard to save 15 more? Ask a friend, you can repay them... It would play ALOT better with the 9600 XT.

I see. That explains the spelling/typing then.

Well, just ask your parents for 15 dollers, it shouldn't be that hard. Its your money, I am just saying for 15 more you will get a way better card.

Lewis is right. But You could ask you parents to get it online for you and you can get it for $85 plus shipping. It is a very good card and will play the game very well.

Dominator Radeon 9550 Video Card, 8x AGP, 128MB DDR

You can get this card from comp-usa for 99.00

Like the others have said, buying a card for less than $70 is just asking for trouble. Just make sure it will work with your current computer. If you have any questions about that, just repost it here and I will try to respond.

About the keyboard. Some keys on the keyboard, the spacebar included, have a little metal piece similar to a stretched out paper clip that help the key function. From what you describe, it sounds like that's where your problem lies. I have never had any luck completely repairing a spacebar like that, but I have only tried once and I was probably 13 at the time!

Getting graphics card for less than $150, is a waste of time. In 1 month, it's worthless. get a 9800PRO, or a 6600GT, for about $200.

he is right at the tipping point

the extra 15 dollars will make a big difference

happily saying get something 2-3 times the stated maximum budget is pointless

He's 13 and without a job, and I'm 18 and my budget isn't any higher than his is Of course, I do have to pay for gas ($2.10/gallon here) and just recently paid my car off, so I'm pretty much broke right now anyways. I've got a few months to save up tips and stuff from work, so I'll probably end up getting a really nice graphics card once I get my new computer.

Well if your in college make your "school" computer a gameing one.

It will do your papers just fine and you'll get great gameplay.

You are right the $15 extra should not be to hard but 2x that get real.

It is not a waste of time if you rarely pick up new games Blitzkrieg. Also, I wasn't suggesting Wal-Mart , he just asked what retail store he could buy a cheap card. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend pricewatch.com, froogle.com, pricegrabber.com.... but you have to be wary and watch for responsible sites.

If you just want the sites try these

newegg.com
partspc.com
ewiz.com
imagestore.us

to name a few.

P.S. I really recommend patience in the matter of video cards. After a bit of patience I was able to purchase a 9800 Pro for 140 dollars off of ebay (from a company with 500 feedbacks @ 99.7% )

Whosa I am not sure if you will be able to find a video card at all for $50.....most of the ones I have seen in the local stores start at $69 and only go up from there. Maybe if there is a Fry's nearby where you live you could find one under that.

ok, ill go for 100$ and for all you who are wondering how i get this money,my grades used to be shit, D's and C's so my parents give me money for good grades and they have alot of money, but im gonna spend some on spring break (going on a lacroose trip with some friends in florida, YES) but, from what everyone said i should go for the extra 15$, and my parents dont lend me anything unless i earn it....heh earn.... so no luck on them giving me any extra money. and Lansing, the cuetip worked great my space bar is working much better now
