No, I am not... I just read the description on the cards and saw that they meet even the recommended requirements. Also, PCI or AGP or PCI-Express should have nothing to do with it, their just different interfaces to the card.

Different interfaces usually mean different bandwidths (with the exception of AGP and PCI-Express those two haven't met a top bandwidth yet). But if you buy a plain PCI card, then you'll notice a performance drop (especially since the interface is shared with every other peripheral on the bus)

P.S. I read that you can't use your current video card, why is that? It literally ONLY supports OpenGL?

o right now i have Intel(R) 82915g express chip family

yah after i got past the ascalon loading screen it went black

That chipset family supports DirectX and Direct3d, sounds like a different issue. Have you tried changing the resolution to something smaller (try 640x480 and work your way up through the list). Does it load the initial screen? And if you have, are you sure you've got the latest drivers for this chipset?

o i forgot the ps well im pretty sure now that it was just the quality of the vid card. wen i saw that there wer only 2 cards listed in the system requirements i thought that the game was written to those cards and not opengl

Im dl'ing the latest drivers right now and wen i tried to play i got past the character creator and then downloaded ascalon and right after the ascalon load screen it just went black

after i install the drivers ill try the diff resolutions right now im at 1024x728(somthing like that dunno if its 728 lol)
