Default Server lag

Here's the scoop. I'm on a college network, T3 backbone, i get a pretty solid 6.3MB/sec download and comparable upload speed... not bad at all i'd say. However, whenever I try and connect to Arenanet/Guildwars i get an abhorridly slow connection. So slow, that I rubberband every 15 seconds to 10 seconds prior; it's bloody aweful. The only things I can think that are happening is 1. Something with arenanet has gone absoloutely wrong, which I know it hasn't. Or 2. My school's firewall is severly chokeing my connection through port 6112 (the default port for Guild Wars). My question is, is there any way to tell guild wars to come in through a different port, say... port 80? I could send in a request to have them look at the ussue, but chances are they aren't going to unlock port 6112 just becuase i asked them nicely. I have participated in almost every beta weekend event, and have been waiting for this game for a long time, but with this connection, I can't even barely move, much less game.

Help???
