Default Worst Tech Support Ever?

Is it just me, or has anyone else felt like they have gotten "the shaft" from the official guild wars tech support team? I say this because I bought the game 4 days ago, and have not yet been able to play it! When I went to create my account and completed all the forms, I was told to check my email for a confirmation of the account creation. Well to make a long story short, I never recieved this email. When I try to log on it gives me an error saying that the account cannot be found. When I try to create a new account, the error msg tells me that the access key is already in use...

I have contacted the "tech support" and first to respond to my call was a GM with no information of use and was the least bit helpful. After a day they decided to transfer my question to the official tech group. I have sent them information they requested (i.e. account email, access key, password, etc...), and still, 2 days later I have not heard anything. It is very frustrating paying $50 for a game, and being stoked to join a bunch of friends for a great time, then get denied.

If anyone has had this problem and knows any possible solutions, I would be very grateful to hear them. sorry this is kind of long, but any help will be appreciated.

I am in the exact same situaltion as you. Treated me the same, as if they don't need my business. They obviously didn't bring any support people over from Blizzard.

I am sure everything will be straightened out soon enough though

Their support team are probably overflow by massive complaint email due to premature and buggy game release. I myself having graphical issue that lead to game crashing. I know a few that had CD-key access issue and frequence disconnect just by a glance on this forum. Whoever ex-Blizzard employer that in charge of this game must have left out their support team at the old company. Because, Blizzard would never ever release such a POS.

I sure hope it is straightened out soon, I hae many friends actually from a WC3 clan that have converted to this game, and it is killing me not playing with them. I can understand how problems can arrise, it just irks me the wrong way when I get no help at all from the tech support. =/

I'm not even sure this qualifies as support. Usually you get helped with support.

Sorry to contradict you but I would think that Blizzard's support staff isn't the issue here. Mainly because they don't really have a clue about support at all.

You obviously haven't played WoW. If you did you wouldn't be so quick to have them here.

The way you'll know that a Blizzard staffer takes over here is that all your favorite spells and characters suddenly become useless. The game will become a level grind. And you will have the sudden urge to gun down strangers in a food court.

Let us hope they never take notice of Guild Wars.

Really.

Doesn't matter how blizzard support was. The important thing they would always test, test and retest before pushing out a product. So, their product never really had serious technical issue at first release. Besides, last I remember, there wasn't any level grind in Diablo.

Anyway, this isn't about blizzard. It's about NCsoft releasing yet another buggy POS. God knows how many months they would take to fix all technical issue. For the records, I buy this game for 3 days already. Yet, I still havent been able play for more then 3 minute per session before the game crash with no response. Furthermore, they can't even send a simply email reply that said they are working on the issue. That pissed me off to no end.

BTW, I don't really care who's going to take over this game. I had no hatred nor favour againts any company over a game unlike someone.

I'm just wondering, but are you using a web based E-Mail system? Sometimes their filters will toss the acknowledgement into the trash and delete it after a day.

I suggest playing around with filters and whatnot, then log in and ask the program to resent your access link. It might appear then.

If that doesn't solve the problem, please post back up.

*EndEdit*

And I have a feeling their tech support is probley getting hit by a lot of people right now. The game was just released so many people are probley having issues that they are trying to solve all at once so don't worry too much if you can't connect right now, keep us updated and we can try to help you. =)
