Default Is there a way to turn off spell effects?

Spell effects seem to be my problem. When in a mission whenever there is multiple mobs attacking and any area effect spells involved the game will freeze. I'm pretty sure this has something to do with my graphics card (Geforce4 mx 440) and a 56K connection. But until I fix those two things I'm wondering if there is a way to turn off spell effects. Doesn't look like you can from options.

If you can't do it in the options, then I'm not sure offhand really. It would be intergrated into the coding, and when you think about how many characters and classes, spells and whatnot are out there, thats a lot of code to just have one check box to shut off.

Try lowering some of the options in the video screen to increase your performance. Its the only thing I can come up with right now.
