I built my own system, and I haven't had any issues with GW but for one error caused by the servers.
AMD Athlon64 3200+ (2GHz)
1GB (2x512) PC3200 DDR RAM (Dual on-die FSB, runs at 800MHz)
GF FX5900XT 128MB (Running well on 71.80, although somebody may recommend different drivers for me)

Actually I was a noob who fell for what they were trying to do, make it look better then what it really was. About four years ago I wanted a computer really badly. I had no experience with PCs, no references, no people to talk to about getting one, that’s the people who fall for these as I call them "scams" That's what Hewlett Packard, Compaq, E-Machines are. They are all crap computers with the cheapest components found installed on them. Unless there the high end ones which you can build for about a grand less then they ask for them. The reason they can jack up the price, is by advertising "MOUSE AND KEYBOARD INCLUDED!" "Stereo 2 piece Polk audio speakers" People are like WOW, its whole computer, little do they know they can buy all of those for about 20$.. (It wasn’t even a optical mouse)

Man I thought I was getting a rocking system..
Intel Celeron 1.1 ghz
128 MB sd ram (PC100 )
Integrated sound and video (Like 4mbs of memory on the vid card)
HP 15' monitor (WOW!!!)
Speakers, mouse, keyboard included!
Cannon S300 printer omg!! wow.
All of those for only $800??? - Which was really $1500 =/

Little did I know, this computer couldn't even handle the game Swat 3...

That's the goal of these prebuilt systems, they advertise to people who don’t know a celeron is a piece of crap, and SD ram sucks, and the minimum a system should have in the first place is 512 megs of ram. Sad sad sad.. This is way off topic I know, but I had to say something (I REALLY HATE HEWLETT PACKARD).

and no, people who get their systems custom built are not technically smarter, they just did the something most, or all of us did - grow out of the noob stage.

It’s called not knowing the difference.

You call it that, I call it becoming techinally smarter.

When your life doesn't revolve around computers, there's nothing "technically dumb" about not knowing about computers.

Edit: And I'm doing to assume that what I bolded was done on purpose.

Default custom

My computer is custom built. My younger brother's computer is custom built. Identical hardware parts. Aside from software installed, nearly identical. My game runs beautifully, minus the fact that it reboots suddenly, randomly, without warning. Somewhere between logging on and 1.5hours of play time. My brother's computer does not. Playing WoW, my computer runs immensely better than his does. Less lag, better graphical settings, etc. In this game, sometimes I crash every 5 mins, he doesn't ever. By crash, I mean "It reboots my computer". Never before had an issue like this. Software is most certainly not written to par with most released games (ever... since 1992 or so, when online/mass produced non-atari games became big).

I've never had to STOP playing a game, because I was tired of (for the last hour) running around in an instance doing quests... only to crash while carrying back the item to finish the quest. The game is great though. I hate not jumping and being told "You cant walk there... or jump off that... bushes are like concrete walls"... but overall its got some extremely developed ideas. The game just needs to be finished. The fact that the main support site has no mention of the "Reboots my computer" problem, is a joke. In any case, all custom built.

I have extensive (i.e. since I was 2yrs old playing pitfall on an atari, working at an ISP, setting a jr. high up with all their computers, tech support, etc...) experience with computers, and games. This game, just needs some serious debugging. Though, in any case, don't buy prebuilt computers. Its a waste of $$$. On the other hand, it could be faulty memory and unless you spend $$$ replacing everything until it works, you wont really know. Prebuilts you can usually send in and THEY will replace everything until it works. But in any case. Just wanted to rant awhile... now I've had enough of a break to go back to playing.

Oh... and necromancers are a weak joke, devs need to think about their class. Really? only sacrifice 10% of my life and I can do 40dmg? For 5 more energy than an elementalis, and at 10sec more cooldown? Jeeze, thats amazing!

Pathetic

Then you're not playing it right. My Necro is a machine... Dark Pact is a backup attack. But this is hardly the place for that.

I'm in the same boat. I've never had such issues until now. Not going to go into such detail, but it's incredibly frustrating.
