Default Connection Problems within a network

well, I have a serious problem:
first, I played GuildWars from my main desktop computer, everything worked fine, I love the game. But now, this computer is giving me some trouble, so I'd like to play it from my Laptop.

Every Computer in my home network is connected to that main computer through a network hub, and most games just work fine. But with GuildWars, it'll give me some trouble: I just cant connect to ArenaNet to download updates, and when I just copy the updated files from my main computer to the laptop, I can start the game and everything is fine, but I cant login to the gameservers. I can login fine with my name/password and I do get to my character selection screen, but I cant get into the game.

My network doesnt use a router to connect to the internet tho, I just use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), and even after opening Port 6112 on my firewall I cant connect.

In the meantime, ArenaNet-Support really sucks:
I explained that problem to them, they asked my back about my configuration, I send the dxdiag-logs to them, and they told me to upgrade my videocard... wtf? I've been running the game with that video card fine already, and it easily fits the requirements (Geforce4 4200), and I never even mentioned that in my problem's description. So it doesnt look as if I can expect any support from them, I hope you have some ideas about what to do.

They mean to update the drivers of your videocard.

Which firewall are you using? And what If you just plugin the UTP cable from your main computer into your laptop? So from the modem directly into your laptop. Just to check if that works so you can indicate if the problem is your system or the network.
