Default Lag and spec question

I have Windows ME AMD Athlon 1.1
with 384 mb of ram and Road runner and an ATI Radeon 9200
about everyminute or so the games lags for a second and or skips i turned the graphics settins way down as low as it goes. Would getting windows XP and more RAM help get rid of this lag or would getting a new graphics card and ram fix it?

I am beginning to think ME causes lag too . You feel so bad when your party is around you dropping like flies and you can't do anything as you are lagged out and cannot move.

I have an Athlon XP 2400+, 512Mb Ram, GeForce FX5200 128Mb and ME. Saying that, recently I have had what appears to be more server side lag, with a couple of Error 7's and the lag where you can move your camera around like everything was normal.

ME, IMO, is the worst OS Microsoft has ever unleashed upon the public. I would get your RAM up to at least 512MB and then do a clean install of XP. It may not fix your gaming problems, but your computing life in general will greatly improve.
