Default Serious lag issues

Hello, was wondering if you all could help me out with some lag issues I am experiencing...in the early part of the game (Pre-Searing Ascalon) I was doing pretty fine, not much lag. Then suddenly when I go into Old Ascalon later, BOOM, my computer starts lagging like mad.

I've read most of the stickied support threads here, as well as having followed their advice and unblocked port 6122 and installed Microsoft Net Framework, but nothing seems to help! I don't believe it is a computer issue as I have a 2.4 Gb processor, 1 Gb RAM and Nvidia Geforce 5500.

I was thinking that it might be an issue of connecting to an overseas server as I am located in Singapore (SE Asia) I've tried switching to International Districts but that doesn't seem to help either...(btw are International Districts on the same server? If so that would not help)

Most of my friends in the country that I am in don't seem to have this problem, even those with routers (I am using a Netgear router ATM) Anyway...please help! The lag issues are so bad that I will have to stop playing GW if this keeps up.

Thanks in advance for any possible assistance!

I just went Post-Searing yesterday, and when my district in Ascalon City was really busy, it was killing my frame rates. I could face most of the other players (there were around 70-90 in this district, by my estimation), and FPS dropped to 14-16. If I faced away from the other players, FPS went back up to around 37. Also, the chat stream was so fast and continuous that I couldn't even keep up with reading it, and it seems like that would produce some overhead, too. Anyway, it seems to be stressing my system more than ever, so I would recommend checking all your temps, especially GPU.

Love what the Charr did with Ascalon. [blech]

Edit: Oh, BTW, love that name "Tomato of Justice". Any kind of a story behind that?

I'm afraid I can't quite understand what this sentence really means : "Anyway, it seems to be stressing my system more than ever, so I would recommend checking all your temps, especially GPU."

Are temps and GPU computer functions?

Anyway, as to the name, yes, there is a story behind it, but it's more like I thought it would be a cool name. ^_^

Arrow Hmm

For a Gf5500 i would say those are good fps depending on your settings...
Saying that i also noticed the frame rate in this game is kinda low compared to others.I can still run this and any game at max easy but i would like to no what other people are getting and weather the game has a cap like Doom3 at 60FPS.
Im getting about 60FPS at 1280x1024 all on highest setting but see it dip to 30FPS,maybe its just net code.
So in other words i dont think its your pc as im also seeing some strange performance loss!
