Default Haven't been able to connect for past hour...

Ok, whats goin on?

For the first month of this game it ran flawlessly, this past week i have had a few err=7 and 5s. I read all the faqs but they dont really apply... as I haven't changed ONE thing on my computer since they started. Is the american server having problems or something? I was in the middle of playing this morning for about 2 hours and then all the sudden I timed out, and havent been able to connect since. Any ideas?

What are your system specs, Router you are using, and do you have Onboard Network or a Network PCI card? Also, which ISP do you use, as there are a few ISP's being listed on these forums where people are having problems with them.
Not sure if it's just the connections they are using or just they don't allow games very well. As I don't use them or have a problem, I haven't really read them.

Definately not my ISP disconnecting or how would I have been able to post on here...

I use aim while on guildwars, just alt tab to switch, and I never disconnect from AIM and can continue talking, and surfing the web, etc while the game says I can't connect. Through common sense I have reasoned out the possibility of it being an ISP problem... also as I stated... I haven't changed ANYTHING since it started being weird, so why would it be a router problem or connection problem. I have played games on this exact connection for the past 3 years without any problems...

I'll say it again.

Whether you had problems before or only just now, the problem may have been there always and only just now been kicked off by GW.
i.e. You may not have the Firewall configured right, did you put in the FIrewall rules the correct settings to allow GW to access the NEtwork etc etc.

So, before people can give you a full rundown on what they can do to help, help us by posting your Machine Specs and Router Details or this won't go anywhere.

Not necessarily. A web browser is not a persistant connection...GW gaming is. A brief interruption when browsing is usually unnoticeable but enough to error 7 GW for many people.

svenns right, ISP's can cause hiccups in the game, if the isp's having trouble you wont notice it on your browser but consistant gameing will reveal the hiccups, your ISP might still be having an issue and i'd call to make sure it isnt them.

However,

There is a major fiber link down in Texas ATM, it has affected game servers for WoW/CoH and GW...fear not nerds, it will resolve itself.

I've had gaming problems since January on my Comcast Cable connection. It makes me so mad... The packet loss seeems to occur somewhere near the GW servers though, like in LA or something.
