Default Can u have 2 accounts after updating?

I currently run GW on my standard ed., but I have recently bought the collectors edition because I heard u could update ur existing account by bying it...however I am curious, if I do this will I be able to use my old game...the standard version to begin a new account...or will it and the new game (coll ed) both be used for my ONE game (both keys). I would like to give my old game to my bf, but I want my current characters to take advantage of the collectors edition without starting from scratch...does anyone know how that works, and can you tell me how to do it?

There is no way for your to give your account to your boyfriend while maintaining your current characters and allowing them to use the collectors edition items. What you can do if you want your current characters to use the collectors edition items is to add that CD key to your account via the account button when you start up Guild Wars. This will not install a second copy of Guild Wars on your hard drive.

Or you could give your collectors edition to your boyfriend and kep your current characters which wouldn't give them the collectors edition items.

Or you could give your boyfriend your current account and start new characters on your collectors edition account.

Personally, I think it would be a great waste of money to add the collectors key to your account as you would have basically paid for the game twice and only gotten one account.

Here is a thought.

Install the CE and create new chars. THen transfer all your money and items that you have to your new chars. Then delete your old chars and let your BF start from the beginning.

i started my first char on my bf's computer before my new one came, so i created the same build, and had him log on as my old char and give me my items and money in-game. as for xp, you do have to start over unfortunately.

and if that doesn't work, he's your bf, you could just meet him in game and he could give you all your items ?!

If he doesn't - dump him

Well guys, just in case someone was curious if it was at all possible in any way.....Its not. I just got my email back from customer support and they said once a keycode is used for an account it is PERMANENTLY tied to that account there is no way to free up old keys for new use. So, thanks for all the replies guys, guess i will have to take ur advice afterall. Thanks a lot!!!
