When you run the program, see if it's doing a lot of hard drive bashing. Could be the reason for the poor results. Maybe your system needs a bit of a cleanup or slightly more memory so you don't have to read much off the hard drive.

Why don't you quote your System and OS Specs and we'll see if we can help you get a better score.

3D Mark isn't a particular good app for testing general PC tweaks - it's almost exclusively designed to test your GPU (graphics card) and not your CPU. If you want to benchmark your general PC performance then I would highly recommend SiSoft Sandra.

One of my pc is more or less exactly the same as yours except i have an asus a8v mobo...?

With those specs, you should be getting around 4.5 to 5k in 3dmark05 and about 11.5 to 12k in 3dmark03..so if your not hitting at least 11k in 03 then somethings wrong m8

Try reinstalling you motherboard chipset drivers...also try a different nvidia driver set, use driver cleaner, cant remember the site, but google for it...

Oh you could try the dxdiag tool and see if that brings up any errors

As a last resort defrag do a general clean up etc etc

Go to www.guru3d.com for driver cleaner.

Also, I would double check all your BIOS settings to make sure you have everything set to the correct settings. If you have anything set that doesn't go with your hardware settings, that could cause problems.
Easiest way to determine what is going on, set your BIOS settings to default and only set the CPU settings to show your correct processor speed.

All the info on how to do this, is located in your Mobo Manual.

If you get around 11K in 3D Mark 03 with a stock 6800 GT then you are doing fine.

I know, It's Icarium who's having the problem, plus I've clocked the bejesus out of mine and used a modded bios to give the core more volts....

Did you use 3dMark05? It is a reasonable score there, but my comp:

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.4 ghz
Nvidia GeForce 6800GT 128mB (unlocked)
1 GB Ram

Gets a 9407 in 3dMark03, so that could be your problem.

I'd say that's a reasonable score for a 9800XT. It would probably go up a little with a fresh reformat or some hardcore maintainence, but it's nothing to worry about.
