Weird Err=7 (could login)
I can login and choose my character; I can play fine two of my three character: one in Yak's Bend, one in pre-searing Ascalon; however, when I choose my third character at Destiny's Gorge, the game gives me the [err=7] message, and it still says "Connecting 0%".
Does anyone else have this problem?

Do you have any filtering software on your computer (like to block "bad" content)? Those sometimes prevent the downloading of maps.

Is the name of the character of a bad nature as in a bad word or something that could offend someone. They are cracking down on that now.

It was a brief bug when the update first came online today. was out for about 20mins.

I got hit with this error when the update first came out today, and then got it again just a second ago while in a mission. I don't know what this crap is. I have never ever experienced this error in all my hours of gameplay, and I have put in A LOT of hours.

The game simply doesn´t like me. Today I came across very good group in Tombs and guess what ? Err=7 when we were already inside
It was not internet connection problem because everything worked normally. It must have something to do with the patch as I haven´t got these errors earlier.

Im getting the same error. I got a super good team and what happens? I can't log back in without being given err=7 and disconnected. This has never happened in all the 197 hours I have put into Guild Wars.

What Firewalls do you guys all have? I have McAfee and I tried uninstalling and then running the game but I still get the error.
I am pretty sure that this is an error server-side.

i have been playing the game since release. occasionally my friends (one in particular) would keep getting this message, and for the 1st time ever i got it last night. in fact, i got it three 3 times while doing Ring of Fire. hopefully it will clear itself up. seems like this update did something.
