Angry Ops! I've done it again.... ...F_ _K

Can anyone tell me should i buy GEFORCE 6800GT, 6800ULTRA OR 7800GTX?
I had ordered the 6800GT and i said to the man from the shop i boughted it that i change my mind and i 'll put the 7800GTX but he said he cant send the card(6800GT) back and order the 7800GTX at this point.
HAVE I DONE A VERY BIG MISTAKE???

Can at least play the games of the next generation if i go SLI with the two 6800GT?????

Buying a 7800GTX is pointless at this early in its release unless you simply have the cash to spend on the best in the market.

The 6800GT will last you like 2+ years depending on what new technologies come out, but you can rest assured that you'll be able to play "next generation" games on it. And probably the generation after that.

This is why I always buy mid-range instead of high-end, my 6600GT will last about that long.

To be honest, Games Developers are finding it hard to keep up with the GPU developers.

Edited here:- Seems to take more time to produce a game using all the features on these cards that has a decent story or gameplay. And as soon as one does come along using the current best card, the next Gen Card is released.

So, as they say, yes, the 6800GT will serve your needs very well indeed.

What Dirkiess said is completely true, graphics cards are like two generations ahead of games now, in terms of power anyway. Like I said even the mid-range 6600GT will last about a year or two.

By the time my 6600GT is left out in the cold, the 7800GTX will be a mid-ranged £120 card. It's the best way to buy. It's always good to be future-proof, but buying a brand new card is *too* future-proof.
