Default Is there REALLY no way to shoot a screenshot without the GUI????

I can't believe that a game as lovely as GW would not have the ability to shoot a screenshot sans UI. There are SO MANY places I've come across thatr I'd love to make a wallpaper out of, but every shot I take has the chat window, skill bar, etc. and I can't find out how to remove them. Is there really no way to do so for best screenshots??

There is a key combo. Try Shift+Print Screen, or Alt+Print Screen. I forget exactly what it is. When you hit it, you'll see the UI disappear for a split second.

I'll give that a try... Is that documented somewhere that I'm just not seeing?

Hit Shift+Ctrl+H and it will remove the GUI. Hit it again to bring it back.

BRILLIANT! Thank you SO much! I actually has a really hard-core role-player ask me the other night if you could do this (they think that a UI is distracting) so now I know... Personally I just want it off on my screens, but this will help them a great deal- appreciate it!

For some reason the non-UI is the default on my computer. I cannot take a screenshot WITH the text. I tried ctrl+shift+h, no luck.

It's funny because I was whisper-threatening a guy who was scamming Altheas Ashes (to quote: "Urn and ashes are the same thing"), that I was going to take a screenshot and report him. Heh - he lived to see another day because I could not include the words!

Does one really have to "shit?"

The way I read it, is it is the same combination to toggle back and forth. If I take non-UI shots with and without pressing "shit" + printscreen, then what?

All my whisper threats will just be blowing smoke.

Shift + Printscreen removes the UI for the split second it's taking the picture... no toggling necessary.

OK maybe I should start my own thread about how does one take a screenshot WITH UI.

When I hit just plain ol' printscreen to try to save my cape design proposal, I got a picture of myself standing near the guild registrar guy in Ascalon City. No words, no skill bar, no map, no cape because it brings up a new window that is part of the UI.

Then I heard of control + shift + h and shift + printscreen options - tried them just in case. My thinking was, if it makes the UI go away, it may bring it back too. No luck there.

Is it possible it's my computer settings, not the game settings?

alt + printscreen is different than the other 2. Ive never tried it in GW but in windows it just copies the currently active window. Perhaps try that.

Thanks so much, Herd -- I will definitely try that when I next log on!
