Default Do i have any chances?

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site/forum but i have been on many different GW forums, and havent found the answere i was looking for.. so i hope to find it here.

Now, before *some* people start flaming me, i wanna say that i have read MOST of the support threads found on this site and on the official GW site.

Before i start, here are my system specs:

2.4 GHz Processor (Celeron)
760MB RAM
64MB Video Card Intergrated.. (Intel Graphics Controller..)
DirectX 9.0c
Windows XP Home

I have downloaded and installed the client from the official site (i havent bought the game yet), and when i start, it gives me a message saying my vid card is unsupported.. BUT, at the log-in screen i have no lag what so ever (i havent tried in game.. because i dont have it :P)

So my question is, is there a chance that the game would run on my crappy machine lol

Thx

Looks okay to me.

If you happen to know someone who has an account, and who you would not mind logging in on your system, perhaps you should invite that person to play the game on your system to see if it'll work well enough for you.

ya..you're gonna need to run at minimal settings but it'll definately run.

Most games are pre-programmed to pop that error whenever they detect an onboard(integrated) video card.

if I were you I'd go into my BIOS and bump my video RAM up to 128...this'll drop your system RAM to 698..not a noticeable difference in System RAM...but you'll notice a difference when gaming

At minimum settings you shouldn't notice too much troubles really. Your system should run the game fine, just make sure all graphic settings are set to minimum. you have plenty of system ram, so I'd suggest bumping your onboard ram up to 128MB as was suggested.

I have run GW on a families computer who has onboard video and less ram than you and not noticed too much lag or issues wen everything was set to minimum. So you should be fine.

It might not be 100% smooth, but it shouldn't be too bad. You won't get the uber great looks as say I doi (max setting, max anti-aliasing.. heh).. but even at base settings the game looks nice..

I'm pretty sure I saw a sticky about intel extreme graphics in one of the guildwarsguru forums.

Anyway, you could always consider buying a better graphics card. An ATI 9600 or 9800 or an nVidia geforce 4200 ti is perfectly sufficient, and the rest of your computer seems quite good.

On the other hand, with specs like that I suppose you've got a Dell, and they're pretty much designed not to be upgradeable.

EDIT: Here you go: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=10749

Technically yes they do, unfortunately most makers soldier the chip to the main board instead. There are several Laptop makers out there that do actually support upgrades to video chipsets. They are fairly hard to find and often a bit more expensive, but There are even some Dell laptops that do support this.

ya I shoulda said "generally laptops...." as some of them do support upgrades. But most of the ones that support upgrades to the video card come with ATI Radeon Mobile cards and not Integrated Intel Cards.
