Default Intel 82845G - Solution to work with GW

GuildWars does not support most of the Intel Mother Boards, espically 82845G on-board. I found this fourm post and applied it to my Dell 2.4Ghz, 1gb ram, On-board 82845G video card laptop and it works. This may also work on some of the other 828xxG on-board video's.

Ok i Just got contacted by support saying the the 82845G integrated graphics is not supported. So we can pretty much say with all honesty that NCsoft does not plan to make a patch for us.

However I was able to work out some kind of fix.

first of all download this great tool called 3danalyze http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/emutnl.htm
(this is also useful for SOME of the next gen games if you can't get them to run or install on your outdated machine)

Now have it open your GW .exe and check these boxes

http://www.ixtlanstudios.com/webimages/GW.jpg

I have spent many hours trying to get this to work and I have been testing this combo for about an hour with no prob. I can access inventories, and shops, select, etc without a crash.

I have noticed a few artifacts show up (such as a green square next to an NPC) but it is definately not severe, and I think we can live with it. Also on one occasion I got a wierd blacking out of an area on my screen. If this happens, just exit GW and reload.

Also if your text seems unclear, make sure to jump out of windowed mode in the options. For some reason 3danalyze will put the client in windowed mode (which it actually won't be, but it will say that it is). Once you put it back into resolution it clears up the aliasing.

Im hoping this fix will work for the 82856G guys as well, but i know it works for my 82845G, and im sure its probably the same hardware wise.

Not sure if these are the right ones, but they were the only ones on the official site I was able to dig up.

You guys, use the 3d analyze process, it works like a dream! Don't roll back to the 6.14 or get new drivers. The process used in the original post is awesome. I can use my inventory and I can make a pvp character without crashing!
