Default Loading problems

Does anyone know why that when I start up my character I am able to load up the area I was just at, but when I try to move to a different area, it can't connect?

How long has this been going on, and what does it say when u cant connect what error? Does this happen with every char for every area, if so see if u can get someone else to log onto ur account or on a new comp.

The problem occurs on all of my characters. There's no actual error message, what happens it that it will say connecting and it will be at 0% loaded and it won't move.

It is possible that there is no actual error but it's just taking some time to load up the next zone. This could be possibly caused by multiple programs that are running in the background (which causes the computer to slow down), your computer specs or too low, or the map is just loading.

I thought that it could have been caused by having other programs on, but I tried it again with none on. All the specs meet the minimum requirements or better. And as for just loading slowly, I don't think it should take more than 20 minutes to load.

Default Fixed (At least for now)

Well I reinstalled the client and its now connecting. I say that it's fixed temporarily because this is exactly what I think I did last time this happened to me. However, I won't be suprised if this happens again.

If it does happen again, check any firewalls and virus software you have running. These could be impacting the program from doing the updates, as each time there is an update to the game, they request that the firewall ports are accepted again, due to the change.

This can all be down to incorrect Firewall settings etc.

Hope it works ok for now though.

The above poster is 100% correct. Hope it gets fixed soon and I can't believe you had the patience to wait 20 minutes for it to load =O. Unless you went to eat or something =X.

Just to elaborate on the firewall settings. If you have XP and Windows Service Pack 2, you can go to your control panel and click on "Security" and see if there is a firewall that's on.

The loading problems have started again. I have a firewall from Panda Software and the Windows one but the Windows one is turned off. I'm not positive, but I think it only happens after an extended period of not playing. And the Panda firewall will be hard for me to mess around with because its giving me some stupid error message but I don't want to fix it because after it got messed up I was finally play Day of Defeat. Also the firewall has never really been a problem for me before.
