Default Motherboard / Processer Compatibility

I have just bought myself a new motherboard, the A8V Deluxe from ASUSTeK. Though, at the moment i am using a AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Processor. The new A8V supports 939-pin processors, but my question is: Can/will this A8V motherboard support my XP processor?

No, it is a 64bit motherboard and your XP chip is 32bit, it will not fit in the board, so you will need a comaptible socket 939 athlon 64bit processor

Sorry but you will need a new chip m8

I can't afford £200 for a new processor, so i just wasted £60 on a motherboard i can't use.
