Unhappy Ridicolous FPS drop after entering new areas, change res 2 times and it works!!

System Specs:

CPU: PIV-HT 3,6 Ghz
RAM: 1,5 GB
VGA: GF6800gt 256 - Zalman cooler
MB: Asus P4P800E-Deluxe
Audio: SB-Audigy ZS
(all latest drivers installed)

GW always runned really smooth on this system at maximum graphic settings, AAF, and resolution it takes only 50% CPU usage, no other programs in background. Less than half system Ram usage but...

In last week (maybe since update), i've noticed (impossible avoid to notice it) frame rates slowly drops after entering a new area (or just changing district in tombs), when it reach 2 or 3 fps it is almost unplayable you know... After some try I've figured out how to solve it until next zone skip, it is changing resoution. If i change resolution to any new res it become smooth again, then i go back to my maximum resolution and game is smooth again..

This is oddd, I can't figure out why is happening, no increased temperature in system or increased cpu usage, can anyone help?

Have you tried changing to lower settings, or turning AAF off, to see if your computer runs the game without the FPS drop? Note: Done before starting.

And the better quesiton would be, what have you done to your computer between the time you ran GW fine, and then noticed the problems?

yeah, i had a similar problem, it was because my harddrive was filling up with alot of stuff: and fast. Once i got rid of it all to cds and off the maidn hard drive, things ran a bit smpoother. i still get some lag after that, but its a hack of alot less i can say the least.

dunno if that will help with your problem, but its oen thing to try if you can get that worked out ( i just burned all the files i didnt need for startup: documents, word files, etc.)

ok, i try to explain it batter.

A)GW un smoot at maximum setting almost all the time..

B)"Sometime" (like 25%of times) I switch district (or enter istanced map) and GW frame rate start dropping becoming unplayable when it reach 3 or 4 fps..

C)Change ingame resolution to any lower resolution (800x600, 1024x768,...), and than reject changes when confirmation dialog appear. Now it works fine, same settings AAF and resolution.

D)Go to B...

I unistalled GW, now I'm at work, later I'll reistall and will give you result to this.

Nothing changed, only change was last update, my HDD have 40% free (72G) and is full defragmented, I use this HDD only for games, I have 3 HDD, OS on first one, page files and documents on second and games on third.

ps: i'm not sufferig lag or stutter, just low fps.

thanx for any help and sorry for my poor english

/edit: added some information

(sorry for my poor english)
