Question Blue Screen of Death!!! nv4_disp.dll

I have Windows XP/GEForce 9800/Directx9.0 and all latest drivers.

I've never had GW crash on me before the Expansion/Update got installed. Yesterday, GW crashed for the second time and gave me a blue screen of death while i was playing PvP. I think it has to do with certain combinations of spells being cast by different characters mostly E/N/Me...

At some point during the game, it hangs and goes to a blue screen, which indicates that the problem came from nv4_disp.dll nvidia driver....well i never had this problem before. I did notice that some people were getting different types of animations. So was there a code change in animation effects in GW? I haven't had a Blue Screen in YEARS before this....anyone else experienced this?

do you have a GeForce 6800 or a Radeon 9800? I'm assuming that since the error is being pulled from an nvidia specific driver you meant 6800 instead of 9800.

is this a card you installed? did you have an older card in the system before it? and if so did you remove the drivers for that card first?

I believe 77.77 are the lastest drivers. check to make sure that's what you downloaded(or atleast check to make sure you aren't running anything older than 77.77)

download Prime95 and do a stress test on your video card. It sounds like it could be a heat issue. Try removing the side of the case and aiming a floor fan at it and see if it clears up the problem.

My bad, I meant GeForce 6800

I did have a Radeon 9700 a while back.

Yes, I do have the 77.77 drivers.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try Prime95 when i get home.

The 77.77s are borked. Try the 78.03s.

I use the 77.18 beta. Havent had a crash since.
