Unhappy Loading areas after the update :(

I don't know if it's happening to anyone else but after the updates with SF not only am i freezing like crazy for like 15-30 seconds outside of town it takes me 2+ minutes for me to load an area! Sure my comp sucks but it has always run decently with a little freezing for like 1-2 secs but tis morning when i logged on and i tried to do a quest it took me 3+ minutes to load and then froze for 30+ secs and then unfroze for a sec and then refroze. It has never been that bad before. So I defragmented my HD and it worked a little better. The characters don't lag much anymore but whenever i try to load an area especially in arenas the match has already been going on for 30 seconds before I come in. It has become impossible to do arenas now.
Anyone else having this? It shouldn't be the lag cause when i move around it doesn't freeze much but when I try to load an area it takes 2+ minutes

It's the streaming technology Anet uses. It doesn't download everything at once but only what is required for that instance. So everytime you load say GF or SF, it will download new material based on what is found in that instance.

You did not experience it for old content because you probably installed using the CD so that installs everything...

i used to have that: but it was just cuz i had too much space filled up so the processor was going a bit slower then id have liked. once i cleared off rooom (mainly burning my 30 gig anime stuff to dvds) it worked fine. i had it before the update and cleaned afterwards, now i get one or 2 seconds of lag when changing maps, takes mainly arount 15 seconds in total from time i leave till time i can move.

I think that might be what I'm seeing too. Windows took a nose dive one night and didn't start back up, so I did a wipe and full install (installed GW from the client). So I'd be almost certain it's not processor/harddrive load because I've hardly installed anything else, and before this, I was usually the first to load if not the second

Now going into Tombs or Arenas my guild has to wait for me while I'm staring at a load screen for about 30-45 seconds that usually has screwed up colors (anyone else seen this, usually pinks and greens in the title & progress bar). The odd thing is, it cuts out my Vent for a few seconds too, so they have no idea where I'm at.

I noticed a very bad lag connection to a zone where it has to download new files or decompressing after new files have been pushed off and on after SF update came out. Once I zone in / out at least once it seems to work fine after that. I notice this espically around high trafic area's. Part of the problem is I have other programs using my bandwidth which for me at least, I think is causing the problem to become worse.
