Default Inventory Problems?

Ever since the new build that came out on the second, i've been having strange problems with my inventory. When it's closed, the game runs fine. When i open it, my game either slows down very badly, or I get a low virtual memory warning from Windows. I know I can increase my paging file to alleviate this, but why of all things does simply opening my inventory do this? Any help would be apprciated.

Note: it also seems to happen with greater frequency if I click on my belt pouch or one of the bags.

They could have changed their coding to be a little more network friendly with their systems. Open the bag, it starts up their "bank/storage" code?

Does it happen to all your characters or just that one? Basically if it happened after the patch, its something to do with the code that is affecting your settings now. Try fooling aroud with them to see if it happens with low graphic settings as well.

It's not the patch that's causing it. I've been having the same exact problem since the game went public.

Oh, I mis-read what you said. Seems your the only one with this problem... Have you tried a reinstall to see what happens?

And what are you system specs?

Hmmm something must be incompatible somewhere cause that's very close to my specs:
Athion 1.8Ghz
512MB DDR
GeForce FX 5200
76GB HD
Hi-speed DSL connection

Well, I'm out of answers for this problem. Its something that is eating up your memory that is slowing your computer down, but I can't imagine what it could be.

What is your Virtual Memory set at right now? Last night I played around and looked up some settings for the game (basically what it ate up) and it needs about 225 of memory to run. Might have to just increase it and let it be. Shouldn't hurt your system performance but at least will stop giving you gaming problems? =)

I did increase my paging file to see what that did. It's now at a 600 meg minimum, to 1.2 gigs at max. And I still have the problem, only when I open my inventory.

Rats... I'm not sure then what the problem is. Do me a favor and run the game with your process tab open. Jot down what the running memory for the game is. Then open your inventory and check the process memory usage again and see if there is any difference.

Should be around 210 with max settings (give or take 20) before the inventory.

I only have 256 ram and my inventory doesn't do this to me. Although when I open that or the hero menu sometimes it either glitches a bit or it lags till it loads the little 3d picture of the 3d preview of ur character.

This just started happening to me last night. After lagging for a few seconds it booted me to the start screen with an "Error 7" message.

Well I got a:
Asus p4s533 sis mobo
Pent. 4 /2.4 ghz (Northwood),
1gb (pc 2700)
Geforce FX 5500 AGP
Maxtor Daimondmax 9 80gb

To me Gw's game play runs okay, I expect better, but maybe its my high standards that set me apart from everyone else. BUT THERE IS ONE PROBLEM!!!! I'm having that inventory freeze problem when I switch from bag to bag (even if there is nothing in the bag it still freezes for like 6 seconds max). This is really frustrating during game play to know that I own a pc that exceeds minimum reqs, yet it freezes when i switch from the main inventory to Belt pouch to 1st bag to 2nd bag. If anyone knows a solution please let me know.

GW rocks, but not with problems.

I have same problem, of inventory freezing, plus i have the same graphics card as you.

GEForce FX 5200

I heard this thing was very glitchy, like it doesnt work with Battlefield Vietnam very well.

So you reacon it could be responsible?

On my old computer it has the same thing. Anyone thought of the possibility of any spy/ad-wares/trojans around the computer? Defragging might reorganize your computer.

Not so sure on what else to do, seeing how all of you have stuff compatible.

you don't need a gig and a half to play Guild Wars.

I had this problem with my 5200 as well. I upgraded to a 6800GT OC and it went away. I would assume it's a video card issue.

I have the same problem though not when I use the F9 to bring up inventory, only when I use the I key. It will lock repeatedly till I shut the inventory window. I am using an Nvidia GE Force MX 440. I ahve my graphics settings right down to bare bones and have all sounds and unnecessary programs closed. Nothing helps but I have nopticed that it is not consistant and I can't find that common factor. I am going to change to an ATI 9200 and see if that helps.
