Yep, another one of those threads :\.
Hi there, I'm currently having a bit of grief installing GW, I'm installing it on my second computer, as my other computer decided to keel over and die on me (The USB ports atleast
 )I searched back a bit, and encountered a few issues quite similar to the one that I have myself, which is, in question, the infamous "Connecting to Arena Net" screen at the beginning of installation, I have no firewalls, that i'm aware of.. And the only thing I could possibly think that it could be would be my Router. But that seems unlikely because I already flawlesssly installed the game on my normal computer, the router, in question, is a SMC Barricade SMC7004VWBR... I haven't really had issues with the router before this, and I have had guild wars installed on this computer in question before, prior to formatting my harddrive, attached is a screencap of the issue itself, the bar just decides to freeze on me. if you have no firewall on, and you have servive pack 2 installed, windows automatically enables its own windows firewall, so i bet that is what is preventing you playing.

Windows Firewall is currently quite beaten down and disabled, SP2 Firewall is the bane of all humanity.

I would download and run this utility from Anet:
ftp://ftp.guildwars.com/diag/netinfotool_allos_gw.exe It's from this article on connection testing. http://support.guildwars.com/cgi-bin...ted=1121976319 (Edit Link Fixed) I would look at the log file it creates and see's where it can't communicate. Mmkay... So I have to send the results of the trace to Guild Wars?
I would look at the other one, but it's in invalid link =\. I'll just wait for easier responses . I'm still sending it in, however.
